Getting off the Breakaway in NYC- how early?

Can anyone tell me how early we can expect to get off Breakaway in NYC? We will be carrying our own luggage.

Self disembark has to get a tag color now too, and in theory they will call these one at a time. I remember it started around 8. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later. I have been in my car on the pier about 8:30 both times I got off.

us customs seems to be short staffed and only have about 2/3 officers on duty to process everyone

Staffing.

Traffic of course is better, but dealing with Customs, Immigrations, Longshoreman, and any other folks can have an impact. Nothing is for sure.

On our last trip, we carried our own luggage and had VIP disembarkation. But, then stood in line for a good 45 minutes to wave our passports.

Get a good hearty breakfast onboard and then deal with it.

We wait until last call and it’s still waiting downstairs. After that hubby is across the street and it’s home in 15.

I was wondering how long it would take to disembark too, thanks for asking. I'll be on the same cruise as you. :D I'm travelling solo this time, so that should be exciting.

We will be getting back on a Friday from the NYE cruise so no Sunday issues.
