Dream! Should we do it???

The Dream was built in 2009. There are a lot of older ships in the Carnival and Royal Caribbean fleet.

What amenities are you looking for? And what RC ship would you book if you didn't book the Dream?

If you want a newer Carnival ship, pick the Vista or the Horizon.

The Dream is actually one of Carnivals newest ships. Its the 5th youngest out of a fleet of 26 ships. Placed in service in 2009 and updated in 2015

This class of ships is really nice (Her sister ships are the Magic and Breeze)

I have cruised on the Breeze and the Breeze is my favorite Carnival ship and I have sailed on 10 others.

AS for the choice over RCCL.... It depends.

If you want to cruise on a Mega ship (largest in the industry) with over 6000 passengers....RCCL is for you. They also have older smaller ships more in line with the size of Carnival. If you have an active family...you can't beat RCCL...so much to do on the mega ships.

If price/cost is a issue... you will find Carnival to be more budget conscious

I have always found Carnival to have more than enough activities and amenities which can be enjoyed within a weeks time. The same can't be said for RCCL's mega ships....just not enough time to do everything offered.

It is an older ship.

Say what?

Can you please tell us what are some of the amenities that you may want? That way we can give you a better reply.

It's been a few years since we sailed on the Dream, but she ranks as one of our favorite Carnival cruises. Enjoy!

We were on the Dream Oct 29, and it is not an old ship. Everything is clean, shiny, and ready to go. We loved it so much, as soon as we got home, we got online and scheduled our cruise for next year on the Dream. Dec 2, 2018 BABY!!!

Love the Dream. Sailed her in 2013 and going again on her next month. So glad they added Guys Burgers to her this year!!! Been on 11 Carnival and the Dream is my favorite ship. I like the size with the Sunshine being my next favorite!!

The Dream is my favorite ship in the fleet and I have sailed on the Breeze. (We are booked on the Horizon for April, so we shall see if the Dream will still hold the crown after that...)

We love one particular feature of the Dream that they did not have on the Breeze. We always book Cloud 9 Spa staterooms when the ship offers them. The Dream was the first ship that we had done this on and we learned of a Mazul (sp?) Mud Room that you could book for a private time for two people. The spa specialist comes in long enough to explain the products you have available to use, then leaves you for an hour. There are three rooms total, one is the application room that also has storage for your clothes, regular showers and the cart with the muds and other products. The middle room is a huge rainforest shower area and the final room is a wet steam room that allows the mud to "work".

We loved the experience and were so looking forward to doing it on the Breeze... unfortunately it was not available on that ship...

The Dream is my favorite ship. I was going to question the “older ship” comment but I see many of the previous post already did. [emoji848]

Don't apologize, it's refreshing that you read the replies before commenting. More should follow your example ;)

OP, Dream is a fine ship and one you should enjoy.

It's all new to me... I was going off of a post that talked about old decor. I was looking at RC originally for the pizzazz, but I first read that Dream was awesome. Once I started looking, people were talking about it being run down and going through dry-dock didn't upgrade a lot. It's hard to figure out the true deal sometimes.

Thanks for your information. I really appreciate it.

Help! We are interested in the Carnival Dream this summer. It is an older ship. Does it have the amenities and things that we would want? I was trying to decide between Carnival and Royal Caribbean. ..

Thanks!

If it's an Oasis class ship then go rcl.
