Booked Gem sailing March 2018: Can I expect an upgrade bid email ??

Before our last sailing on Jade in Oct, we were prompted to bid for cabin upgrades, which we did. (no luck).

So far I have not received such an NCL notification for Gem, March 2018.

Should I expect this to come?

We'd love some opinions.

Maybe. Bidding starts 80 days from sailing. Not everyone gets the opportunity to bid. Not everyone gets the email (I didn't) but when you log on to your MyNLC account and select the sailing, you'll see a "Let's Get You Upgraded" notice that will take you to the bidding web page.

In any event, enjoy your cruise.

And, you check your email's spam/junk mail folder(s) so some servers filtered and group incoming emails & play "hide-n-seek" ... more than 1 or 2 CC'er found their email "Invites" to bid, in addition to logging into MyNCL dot com to check for yourself.

We had gotten them at 80 days but on an earlier 2017 sailing, got the invites at 50 something days. Last minute bookings with inventory of unsold cabins, possible to get the "open your wallet again & input your credit card" "request" less than 24 hours after full payment (since it's beyond deadline for cancellation) ... should be interesting with the new 120 days deadline for booking & payment.

probably a bit too soon plus remember you are most likely sailing during college spring break or certainly sprig break for some schools. The ship will most likely be sold out.
