Will be stopping in Freeport. I was thinking about walking to the lighthouse which is about a 20 minute walk or so from the port according to google maps. Has anyone done this walk and can you swim at the lighthouse?

I am pretty sure there is no place in walking distance to the port that you can swim. If you want to do anything in Freeport, you need to take one of the shuttles or a taxi. They aren't very expensive and they are leaving all the time.

There are the usual assortment of shops right at the port, but that's it.

If you want to go to a beach, when you get out of the port area, turn to your left, you will see people directing others to vans. Just go approach them and tell them you want to go to the beach. They'll get you sorted out and onto a beach with a drink in your hands in about fifteen minutes.

There are some very nice beaches in Freeport.

You can go to the port of call threads to see where people have suggested you go, or you could check on Tripadvisor, either way you will have a nice day.
