Limits to Alcohol purchased in port?

We are sailing next week and taking a wine tour in Ensenada. Are there limits to how much wine can be brought back to the ship. Not to be consumed on board, but rather, stored until the cruise end date.

I thought I saw a quantity but now can't find the reference. We are driving to port and sailing out of Long Beach.

It will be stored for safekeeping till the end of the cruise. Check out the policy under Ports of Call under Purchasing Liquor during the Cruise

Friends have brought onboard several cases with no issue.

Check your duty free limit. Above that amount you *might* have to pay duty.

Never heard of a limit on the quantity that can be purchased and brought into the US. You just may have to pay duties on anything above 1 bottle per person.

Confirming that duty is the only consideration regarding how much to bring back (well, and weight for those flying). On Glory all alcohol purchases whether made ashore or on board were delivered to the cabin on the last evening.

Thanks. With your replies I remembered it was an issue of duty, not Carnival. What I'm not finding now is how much duty is! Thanks for everyone's help.

I googled the same thing and it looks like about $2-$3 per bottle depending on alcohol content.
