Conflicting information on Formal Nights aboard AOS

Two quick questions for anyone who can help:

1. Is there traditional "Formal Nights (2)" on Anthem of the Seas? We sail on 10/27/18. I've read on CC that there is no formal night any longer on Anthem, but when we called RCCL we were told there are two Formal Nights in the Main Dining Room. We always dress appropriately for dinner, but would like to know if I need to be Suite and ladies in our group need to bring formal attire.

2. as you can tell by my code name, I'm from the Philadelphia area. Eagle play in London on the Sunday of our Cruise. What are the chances that the game will be shown on TV's? Is there a sports bar on Anthem? or should I search for televised game at other locations on the Ship (Schooner Bar, Casino Bar, etc.) ?

On a seven night cruise, you will have two formal nights. On your cruise, they will be nights #2 & #6.

You may wear pretty much anything you like. Dressing up is nice, but a suit is not "required".

I would guess that they will not be showing the Eagles game, but you never know. There is a sports bar on the Royal Esplanade on Deck 4.

Anthem still has formal nights, usually 2 on a 7-night cruise.

If the football game is the only one being played at the time (Sunday night, Monday night), then it is likely to be carried by the ship. Otherwise it's a crap shoot.

Not sure where you got your information but on our June Anthem sailing there were 2 formal, 7 casual with one of those labeled "tropical." Saw everything from T shirts and torn jeans to tuxes in dining room. Seemed to be a higher percentage of people dressing up for dinner, maybe 30%, and a lot of folks dressed up for the casual nights as well. Typical was collared shirt and dress pants with ladies often dressing better than the men.

Near zero. The game is at 9:30 in the morning and scheduled only to be shown on the NFL network (and probably a local Philly channel). Unless you're off the ship with wifi if your data plan includes the NFL network.

Hi Bob - are there also 2 on the Allure 7 night? It’s a lot of dressing up on vacation (the same feeling as when my parents would decide Sunday church was “on” during a couple of vacations LOL). I realize it’s not required, but one night would suffice in a week for me (as you know it’s more an issue of packing clothes you may wear once and that tend to take up more than their fair share of space). Thanks! :D

How about Anthem's 12 night formal nights? Which days?

Eileen, my recollection is that there are two, because of the nature of the itinerary on the Anthem out of Cape Liberty.

You have two sea days going down to the Caribbean, and three sea days sailing back. They put one formal night in each of those blocks: Night #2 and Night #11.
