Rare P&O SUE Posted September 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2018 Hello all, what do people think? We went on Oceana for 4 nights in February and really enjoyed her. Would love to do a longer cruise on her but it seems from next year she's only doing fly cruises even in the winter. We don't like flying and a big plus about cruising for us is the convenience of going from Southampton. Any thoughts on if she'll come back or will they vary the ships doing the fly cruises? Sent from my iPad using Forums Thanks for answering Dai, but yes that is too soon. I'm tempted by a 2 night one just to go on her again but I can't convince the hubby! Britboys Posted September 15, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2018 I guess it depends what happens to her once P&O feel they have done "the Arabian Gulf" to death. Personally, I think that she is a better warm-weather ship than cold. She has great outside space but the inside is a bit limited imho. Also, I have no inside info but I wouldn't be surprised if she goes when Iona's sister ship arrives in 2022. She is the same age as Aurora but Aurora is more flexible with her better sea-keeping properties and pool with a roof.

That is because she was designed for the American market as a 7day cruise to Caribbean/Alaska for Princess Cruises.

Rare P&O SUE Posted September 15, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted September 15, 2018 Well we went on her to Bruges and Amsterdam in February and really enjoyed her. Loved the Cafe Jardin and the fact you could have a (free) breakfast or lunch there. I hope she doesn't leave the fleet once Iona ia here but I guess it is a real possibility. I have had good cruises on the 3 big ships but I would still happily go on Oceana again IF I ever get the chance!

Don't say that, we love Oceana - a lovely, friendly ship with what we think is the best atrium we have ever seen. Just stunning. I know that they are selling cruises on her in 2020 from Malta again, so hopefully they will keep her a while yet. If we thought they were going to sell her on we would definitely book a cruise on her in August 2020.

Good points, plus Aurora is having a refurb soon, so doubt she will be leaving the fleet for a while...
HomelessBear Posted September 15, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 15, 2018 Not been on Oceana yet (done Ventura, Acura & Britannia) but booked for Xmas next year. It’s really good to hear she’s so well liked. Looking forward to being on her. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
