Westerdam - Vancouver to Tokyo leaving Sept 30th, 2018. what to do in Tokyo.

We are looking forward to this wonderful cruise in a few weeks.

My question is what to do when we get off the ship at yokohama port.

I can only stay one extra day before coming back home.

Can any steer me toward a good affordable way to get to Tokyo. and what to do in our one day there.

any advice would be appreciated.

We’re getting on the day you’re getting off! We were in Tokyo for a couple days last year for the first time, prior to a cruise to Vancouver. The first day we took a city tour booked online prior to our trip. It was certainly interesting, but the second day, a trip to Kamakura, was better. It’s a beautiful seaside town an easy half hour away by train (bookable online as an excursion as well, full day or half day), filled with stunningly beautiful temples, an enormous bronze Buddha, and a quaint town that’s fun to explore. It was a wonderful place to really absorb the spirit of Japan.

The train is the easiest and cheapest way to get to Tokyo. You can research it online...
