Carnival Magic or Vista?

I'm trying to decide which cruise, they both leave the same day, both have the same itinerary, just different ships leaving at different ports....Vista {Miami} of course is newer, but Magic{Port Canaveral} had a makeover in 2016 any opinions?

Lots of bad reviews on Vista, and the Magic will be much cheaper.

The Havana cabins on the Vista have gotten rave reviews. There are only 4 suites, 14 insides and I think 44 balconies. Until 700 each day you get to relax in the Havana area at the aft section of deck 5 with your own pool, two hot tubs and loungers that are plentiful. Not a zoo like the main pool or the Serenity area. No little kids either since you need to be at least 12 to stay in that area.

Having sailed both ships, I'd pick Magic over Vista every day.

I have sailed on Carnival Magic in the past and so far, it's been my favorite ship yet. We sail on the Vista next week so unfortunately I can't give you a fully objective comparison but if you do sail the Magic, I feel you won't be disappointed.

Did the Vista in Feb. Doing the Magic in May. If it wasn't for the fact that we had a Havana cabin on the Vista it would have been a standard Carnival cruise with no other WOW's. Looking forward to the Magic.

What dates are you looking at? For the dates we can cruise (February, April, October, December), the Magic is more than the Vista.

Yes I can get a suite on the Magic for a little more than a balcony on the Vista.

Haven't been on the Magic, but loved her sister ship the Breeze. That said, we were on the Vista a few weeks ago and loved it. Yes she has some design flaws but we still managed to enjoy the shows in the theater. I vote Vista.

We were on Vista's 2nd cruise ever in May of last year (Barcelona to Athens), and just returned from being on Magic out of Port C.

Very similar boats... the only restaurants not on Magic that are on Vista are the JiJi Chinese one and the sushi restaurant. I do agree with most, that Magic seemed to have better seating in their theaters and night venues.

Vista's plus was... well... it was a NEW ship. Everything still had a fresh layer of paint, casino wasn't soaked in cigarette smoke yet, etc. Vista's staff was friendlier, by far, than Magic's. Of course, this is a objective statement. Magic was understaffed.

Any sailing out of Florida is going to be stuffed with kids. And, kids will be kids when it comes to conduct. Always keep that in mind.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO citcat1: Been on the Vista last year. The theater is not good. Carnival food is about the same from ship to ship. I think the Magic is a Dream Class ship. It will have more room on it than the Vista does. The Vista is larger, but, doesn't have the room that you would have on Dream Class ships. Lots of places are bottlenecks and are hard to get around.
