AAdvantage EA+ insurance -- your experience?

HI! I just got a sales letter & info from American Airlines Advantage offering to sell me their EA+ (emergency assistance +) insurance at $169/yr. + the ability to cover immediate family for $20.00 more.

 

It really sounds good on paper. Medical evacuation, med. assistance, travel assistance -- world wide. It would be cheaper than buying travel insurance for each trip.

 

However, I've never heard of it before. I've had an AAdvantage for over 2 yrs. & never had this offer before.

 

Does anyone here have any experience with this plan? I'd really appreciate any info.

 

I didn't see the earlier post about this "insurance". Thanks for that info. Just about answers my concerns.
