9-20-18 Thursday Weigh-In...Fall Will Be Here In A Few Days...Can You Believe?

This weekend Fall will be here

That makes Christmas is so very near

 

Have to get off our summer gain

Before those darn winter rains

 

If lost this summer you were doing great

You still want to lose more and keep it straight

 

Fall seems to bring comfort food

It seems to warm us and it tastes so good

 

Sometimes hard to exercise in the winter days

We say we are going to but we just lay

 

So we keep coming in here to do our best

We want to get an A+ on this test

 

The test is to lose at least six pounds by Christmas Week

That's only two pounds a month not to much to seek

 

Sounds easy doesn't it..yeah right

It's not when comfort food, sweets and drinks call us at night

 

Eat me says that cake, candy and food out there

WE have to say no..have a Christmas Outfit to wear

 

Really we try to lose weight to be healthy. ."Grin"

You know down deep we want to be Thin.."Thinner"

So let's begin our our quest to lose at least six pounds (hope for more)

From now 9-20.18 to 12-27-18..14 weeks!

Sorry we don't count today's loss, we start with today's weight.

Mark it down so you won't forget what you started at

Great poem Belle! Great idea to give us a "group challenge"!

 

I have written down my today's weight so I will know! Six pounds does sound so easy in 14 weeks but it won't be! 2 holidays (I don't count Halloween) and 4 weeks of cruising in those 14 weeks....but I am determined! Thanks for the challenge! Only I am going for 6.1 because that would be put me a an "round ten pound" number. I am xx6.1 today.

 

Oh yeah....today's report. Down 3.5 for the week. A big surprise! Remember I was UP 0.6 last week so was desperately hoping to at least have lost that but was hoping for 1 lb. Was so surprised when the scale showed down this amount. Excited over it but then worried that next week will be an "up" no matter how good I am this week. My weight changes don't seem to occur in the timeframe I think they should.

Belle, I like that. I hope I can be down 6 lbs by 12/27. I am actually under my final goal weight, but I think that my cardiologist might tell me to lose even more. I see him next week for my follow-up so I will know more then.

Glad you all like the challenge. I'm the same today.

 

Ski....Great loss this week! I know our weight sure doesn't do what we think it should

every week. Sometimes make us happy but mostly it makes us unhappy!:(

 

SIX pounds does sounds easy in 14 weeks but......

I'm like you will be a little hard to lose, 7 weeks and 2 days cruising plus the Holiday's!:eek:

Try my darnest to lose but mainly ...have no gains.

 

Rose ...How are you feeling? Hope your follow up goes perfectly.

Congrats at being below goal! Your challenge should be just staying the same unless

your doctor says he wants you to lose.

 

Jan...Hope you had a great birthday dinner with the family. Yes a cruise and a birthday can

make us have a gain. Bet it will come off soon. Hope it's all water weight and you have a good

loss next week.

 

I'm happy I stayed the same because this week dealing with insurance, phone calls, claims ect.. The other

guy was a "flake" to put it nicely. Has insurance but he won't answer phone for his own company.

His fault so think he's afraid of losing insurance or driving lic. Who knows.

I leave Sunday for the week cruise Not driving my car to be safe. So doing nothing with my car till I get back.

To short of a time to get things done before I leave.. Bummer!

Have to get it fixed in the few weeks home before I leave for the long cruise.

 

Sometimes "life" gets in the way of "living"! Will come in till I leave and will try while on the cruise.

I'm in - glad the challenge was thrown down when I'm in the zone - so far.

 

Down 2 again to 211, that's 3 weeks in a row. That's motivating to me, as now it's getting more challenging. I wander the store aisles reading labels looking for condiments that are low or zero carbs. (Green verde sauce is this week's score)

 

Lot's of great responses, glad so many are doing well - that helps me too.

 

Missus comes home next week, hopefully she notices a little difference.

Leaving tomorrow (guess it's today) for my 7 day cruise. (will seem short) but's that's me.

(that's all we use to do) Now I'm lucky to have longer ones. (this was a free one)

Will try to come on if internet works.

Mike said he would start the Thursday post. I will try not to gain!

 

Good job shootr. Bet wife will notice.

Thanks for the challenge, Belle! I hope you're having a great trip even if it's short:)

 

We are taking this week to "recover" from vacation and starting strong on Monday the 1st (new month, new week). 10K is this weekend - I'll let everyone know how I survive it:cool:

 

We didn't do too bad on the cruise, but still probably 2x as many calories per day as at home between drinks and larger portions. I did better at not finishing everything if the server gave me more than I asked for (I grew up in the eat what you take generation). And we got both weight training sessions in plus 2 of our runs. It was too crazy hot at HMC to try the long run, the wind was too strong most days to run outside and the gym was very warm and humid with the jacuzzi inside so treadmills were difficult too. We only used the elevator once when we boarded with our luggage, so kept fairly active.

 

It's nice to be back home and having reasonable portions again with much less salt:) I've got some country style ribs in the slow cooker in an oil and vinegar sauce with some carrots and potatoes and will make my last batch of rhubarb sauce. Everyone is home for a change (no run, workout, or soccer tonight), so looking forward to a nice family meal:halo:
