My husband received this email also and we booked a Christmas /new year cruise on volendam. It cost us $1,148 each for a Neptune suite for 14 days. Book price is $12500 each. I think we won the lotto :).

...Unfortunately, not everyone receives them. We have friends who enjoy the casino (much more than we do), who have never had such offers. Good on those who have, though...

I have never received a casino offer from HAL, either. I get them from Princess, although I'm guessing that I've "donated" more to HAL casinos over the years. It does seem to be a somewhat random thing.

Nschamp those prices are similar to my email, although mine were in pounds of course. I have phoned the number and costed out the cruises with port fees and they are an incredible deal. The Maasdam Dec cruise in a Neptune Suite would have been possible for me date wise but I can't do 17 days due to work commitments. It is round trip Southampton too, so no airfare for me to pay. So very frustrating to have this wonderful offer and not be able to take advantage of it.

I do feel for you loyal HAL cruisers who never get these offers though. I really hope I get another one that I can actually use.

Thanks for the helpful comments.

Great prices (can you imagine a 25/28 day cruise for as little as $179/$199 plus port charges and taxes?) - I guess I will have to invest a few more dollars in the casino next cruise to see if we might be on the receiving end of one of these offers!

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

We just took advantage of a casino promo today. 10 night Southern Seafarers on Oosterdam on Nov.6,2015. We got a balcony for $139pp plus taxes and port charges. Both of us received a casino promo last month also! We didn't call our Hal representative for a couple of days and then all the cabins were booked. She said the casino allots just so many cabins in different categories. We were only looking at the Panama Canal and one other cruise in the offer. We couldn't believe it when my husband got this promo last night! Lots of cruises to choose from.

I was booking the Koningsdam for a 14 day cruise Jan. 8, 2017. My travel agent said she was able to get me a good price under a Casino offer that popped up. I had previously called Holland America just to get their quote and they gave me a price of $2600 per person with the Explore 4 perks. She was able to get the cruise for $1700 per person under the offer without the perks. I thought it was a great price so we went with it. We usually cruise with Celebrity when we can because I have COPD and like the non smoking in the casino. Their cruise on the Eclipse for a 14 night cruise was quoted at $2315 per person. So for me the good price & the newer ship on Holland won out.

Forgot to mention this was for veranda cabins. I know it's not a cheap, cheap, cheap price but I still thought it was a good deal so went for it.

A few weeks ago we booked a casino rate cruise on the Westerdam leaving 11/14. We booked a verandah cabin for $599 per person. I would guess I've never spent more than $300 total in the casino on a 7 day cruise.

HAL is currently promoting last minute deals for anyone! No need to have any involvement with the casino (we avoid all HAL casinos because of the smokers). We are now seeing verandah prices (for 7 day Caribbean cruises) as low as $549 with some cruise agencies enhancing these deals with as much as $200 in on board credits.

I got my first email of this kind this week. Does HAL do this often? Fingers crossed for another in a couple of months or next year. :D

Is that really that different than the current rates though? I can't say for that specific cruise, but we're on that ship just 1 cruise before it and we got a signature suite for 899 per person. We just upgraded to a Neptune suite for another 349. I've never touched the casino.

We have noticed an increase in the attractive last minute offers on HAL and some other cruise lines. In the past we have grabbed some amazing last minute deals (on HAL and several other lines) but they were usually quiet promotions (for registered customers) offered by several of our favorite Cruise Only Agencies. The new trend seems to be that several cruise lines (such as Princess, HAL and Celebrity) are now doing more direct e-mail promotions. That being said, in most cases one can buy these same promotions through decent cruise agencies and get additional amenities such as OBCs.

How can we comment if we don't know what the offers are?

If you don't care to mention them, no way this thread can go anywhere useful, is there?

Sail, I missed this thread as I didn't get my email until October 8th. I will try to give some of the information that was in the email. Some has been posted already so I will just try to add to the Med Itineraries that were posted.

Basically the offer is a free inside cabin for two with upgrades available for a small upcharge. OV, Ver, SigSU, & NepSU are available for a upgrade fee. Plus you pay taxes and port charges.

There were two Australian/NZ cruises available in November, and two in December. Two 14 day Asian trips out of Singapore in December were included as well. OV-$119, Ver.-$239, SigS-$399, NepS-$689 (AUS/NZ)

Asian=OV=$99,VER=$199,SigS-$399,NepS-$689

There was also 2-14 day SoAm* Val to BA and vice versa in November and two in December. There was also 1 SA & Antarctica 21 day trip in December.

The Nov. 24 Prinsendam 25 day Amazon Explorer in Nov. was also included, along with the 24 day Amazon and Carnaval Explorer in January was listed.

BAtoVAL-OV-$99,SigS=$399, NepS-$689; SA&Ant=OV-$149, SigS-$589, NepS-$1029; Prins=OV-$179, Ver-$349, SigS-$699, NepS-$1229; Amazon=OV $169, Ver-$399, SigS-$679, NepS-$1179.

They also had multiple 7 day Carib cruises in November, December, & 1 in January. Also the 11 Day Southern Car. in Nov. and two of the 10 day Southern Car. in Nov. as well. 7 day=OV-$49,Ver-$99, SigS-$199, NepS-$349; 11 day=OV-$79, Ver-$159, SigS-299, NepS-$549; 10 day=OV-$69. Ver-$139, SigS-$279, & NepS-$499

There was also an 18 day Panama Canal trip on the Amsterdam in December and the 17 day Circle Hawaii in December as well. PC=OV-$129, SigS-$509, NepS-$889; Hawaii=OV-$119, Ver-$239, SigS-$479, & NepS-$839

There are definitely some great deals if the timing works, especially the South American, Antarctica, and Australian trips.

I would love to do the SA and Antarctica trip but the timing does not work for me as I am still working and can't get that much time off. Same thing for the trip on the Prinsendam, what a great trip, but too much time until I retire in a few years.

I was surprised to get the email as I am not a big gambler, strictly a slots and poker player. I do spend a lot of time in the casino on sea days, but I know that I set a limit of $100 in losses in the casino each day so we are not talking a large amount of money.

I haven't called yet, but I may check out and see if I can get aboard for the 11 day Southern Carib. as I can get away for that one. I've done that itinerary before along with the 10 day Southern but for this deal I would go again. If anyone has any more questions I will try to answer them.

I received the email yesterday - called them up and put a hold on a Neptune suite for $499 pp with $100 OBC after taxes. Confirmed and paid today. Ready to go in January to the W. Caribbean with a friend. Thanks HA

Wow....that's a great offer! Hope you have a lovely time. :)

I've seen fares lower than this too when booking close to the sailing date, but I require a wheelchair accessible cabin which really limits the number of cabins to choose from. For us, it was available and a good price.

Same here, we got a handicap room at that price and just 60 days out. :)

Does one earn any cruise day credits with these offers? I wouldn't expect some on the complimentary/low-cost cruise, but especially wondering about the $300 per day spending = one day credit.

As long as they're "published fares" you'll get cruise day credits. Complementary upgrades to a suite won't get you the suite bonus. I'm not sure about a Friends and Family' rate. If offered by HAL via email or regular mail you should get the cruise credits. If offered by an employee, I would doubt it, but you should check with the Mariner Society.

Got a casino offer on September 10 but passed due to already having plans.

Last week got another Casino email with a perfect offer.

25 Day Amazon Explorer on the MS Prinsendam Ft Lauderdale/Ft. Lauderdale Neptune Suite $1722 total each. Plus $800 First Class R/T Delta to Ft. Lauderdale.

Published price $17,000+ per person.

Couldn't have lost more than $500 total if that at the casino last time we cruised. We did do a Pinnacle Grill one night and a couple of nights at the Crows Nest with Drinks.

These voyages also incur Brazilian visas and vaccinations which neither are inexpensive. Still, couldn't pass this offer up.

Maybe the casino offer is given to those who stay in suites? Has anyone stayed in a non-suite and received the offer? If so, please let us know if it was interior, OV, balcony, etc.

My friend got an offer a month or so ago and they don't stay in suites. There is another poster that just left on a long cruise. She doesn't stay in suites either.
