Miami hotel to POM - price?

Hi,

We booked this hotel in downtown Miami (SpringHill Suites Miami Downtown/Medical Center) the night before the cruise. It's approx 4 miles from POM and the hotel offers shuttle to POM for $8/pp. We have 5 in our party, does that seem reasonable? or are we better off with a taxi? Thank you much. Our first time staying over night in Miami so any tips/info is greatly appreciated.

Cab fare, including mini-van taxis which you'll need for 5 plus bags, will be about $25-30+tip, saving you about $10 off the $40+tip for the hotel shuttle. I'd let the hotel desk call the cab for you - they know who is reliable.

UberXL is another option - you can use the Uber app with the hotel address and POM to get a fare estimate, but it should be about the same as cab fare (but usually a nicer, cleaner ride ;) )

Just an FYI that is an extremely deceiving name. That hotel is no where near what anyone would consider Downtown Miami. I would only stay there if all you want is a bed at night. Nothing around there is good and at night its not a great area.

A taxi or even better Uber XL will likely be cheaper.

I would take a taxi or uber rather then a shuttle.

You can leave when you want.

This is an example why I don't choose hotels with shuttles.

I would look at staying downtown.
