Has anyone seen the Koningsdam Obstructed (VH) Balcony cabins. How severe is the obstruction? Are you better off getting a cabin blocked by the tenders or lifeboats or in between? Being a brand new ship there is really no insight so far. Ant help would be appreciated.

For the VH in the forward half of the ship next to the non-tender lifeboats (4041 to 4107) the wood rail is about level with the top of the lifeboat. For those in the aft half, next to the tenders, the tender roof is about a foot above the railing.

The view is half blocked (bottom) by the life boat but you still can see the ocean, the sun, the light, the sky. The door opens for fresh air. The obstructed verandahs are not the best but there are still quite nice.

The in between cabins are less blocked. More room to see, more light, more sun, more sky.

The doors are not to be left open for fresh air.

No but you can open it for 3-4 minutes to add oxygen to the room. The cabins in the lower deck have bad air quality.

That is what I meant.

Actually, when doing the room, the cabin stewarts often leave the door ajar a few minutes to change the air in the room.

In my experience (extensive), cabins on lower decks do not normally have bad air quality.

However, when cabins on upper decks on the same HVAC line have balcony doors open, it definitely does have an impact on the air in my lower deck cabin.

Does anyone have feedback on cabin 4135? It looks like the balcony for this cabin is much larger and may not have much of an obstructed view?

Would love to know what you thought of this cabin Jenny! Do you have a pic of the balcony view? Thanks, Jennifer

On Youtube there is a very good short video of obstructed balcony view. I think 4092. Just search Koningsdam obstructed.

Never noticed poor air on lower decks but sometimes can be warmer. Have a good trip.
