Would love to hear how that parlay worked, good job.

Of course, I had to pay an upcharge but when you start with a "free" casino comped room, they just seem to work harder to get you every discount available when you want to upgrade it. On this one, they gave me D+ balcony discount, 30% NO REF DEP, CAS NO REF DEP (which looks like C&A non refundable deposit), Senior discount and YHP5-CASINO SLOTS (each of us got this casino discount even though NEITHER of us plays slots). Overall, this upgrade cost us $5297.72 which is a hell of a price for the Sky Loft Suite. The final price of the cruise ended up yielding a 61% discount. Even if we had not taken this all the way to Star Class, it would have been a great deal. The upcharge for going from an OV to a D6 balcony was only $318.

That's amazing since they don't allow you to combine a $500 certificate with any other offers when you want to upgrade. I used my $500 certificate and wanted to upgrade to a balcony but could not combine it with any of the above offers which were available at the time. They told me I could not use my diamond + balcony discount if I upgraded to a balcony room. Very strange.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, and new to cruises—I'll be going on my first cruise on 4/30 out of Miami on Royal Caribbean (Enchantment of the Seas). I've done my best to research and answer my own questions, but still have a few things I'm hoping you all can help me with.

I'm very interested in the perk that gets the 5% casino convenience fee waived.

It seems like the only way to get this perk is to have Club Royale status. My understanding is that the Club Royale program changed recently, and the qualification for status is to accrue 1000 points in the casino. Status in the program is indicated by a sticker on your SeaPass card, which grants you free drinks and the fee waiver when in the casino.

Does all that sound correct? Anything I'm misunderstanding or missing out on? Are there other ways to get Club Royale status?

Given that:

Do you all know if it's possible to get the 5% fee waived without being in Club Royale?

Is there anyway to get the sticker on your SeaPass without having Club Royale status?

If Club Royale membership is the only way, I may try to go for that.

Can I get Club Royale status+perks while on my first trip, or is it only available on subsequent cruises?

Say, for example, I gamble enough to earn 1000 points on the first evening, will I get Club Royale and associated perks for the remainder of the cruise?

What is the rate that points accrue? I read on here that playing $5k in slots = 1,000 points, i.e. $5 = 1 point. What if I'm playing table games? Can be points be earned in other ways?

Sorry for the million questions. Thank you in advance for any help!!

Hi! When you reach 1,000 points on your upcoming cruise, you will receive the sticker which will qualify you for the 5% fee waiver and free drinks in the casino. I play slots, so can't answer how points are accrued on tables. Enjoy the cruise and good luck in the casino.:)

RF is not getting $500 certificates.

I understand that RF had a free oceanview certificate. I have had free balcony certificates whereby they would not allow me upgrade and utilize promotions and diamond plus discounts. Not sure what the difference would be whether it be a free inside, ocean, balcony statement or $500 off certificate I would have thought combinations of discounts would have been the same, but consistency in treatment is not how casino royale operates.

I sure hope with the new program the rules are spelled out and combinations of discounts are consistent.

She wasn't using a certificate, I believe she stated it was one of the email offers for a Casino event, they probably have more flexibility with those sailings. I'm sure the time of year and number of staterooms available also has a lot to do with what they can offer, as well as many other factors including amount of play, number of players in the stateroom, frequency of travel, etc.

You can also get that perk if you have status with other land casinos. I don’t know them all but I got those perks from being a high level M life member.

That sounds about right. I believe if you have M Life gold (and up) you get automatic Club Royale, or at least the perks associated with Club Royale. Unfortunately I don't have M Life status—I always gamble at the Wynn/Encore when I'm on land!

I suggest you call Club Royale and ask your questions to them. As you are new to Royal, and Casino will have implemented their new program by the time of your cruise, they should be able to answer your questions. That being said, because the program will be new they may not yet (as of now) have all of the answers. But then again....1-888-561-2234. Also, since you are new to Royal, make sure to sign up for a Crown and Anchor number before you board as the Casino will be able to track your play with your C and A number for all cruises.

Sounds like great advice. I'll be making a call. Thanks!

SO far not a peep about the program that was supposed

To begin March 1... then March 31. Maybe they mean 2019? LOL

ONE year ago was my dads last cruise (and it was with me). He gambled quite a bit and lost . Since then he’s taken zero cruises and me about 30! I gamble moderately. I don’t bet as

Big as him or lose nearly as much. They have my email tied to his acct so I can see all the offers he gets. Well, he gets about 10 times more (and better offers) then me. And over the last year he’s cruised zero and me about 30 times. I Probl accumulated 40,000 points or more . Does that seem like a program that rewards it’s most loyal cruisers?

No, I did not use a certificate. I upgraded one of the cruises that they sent in an email invitation (it's the one on 8 April for the BJ tournament). I find the certificates to be absolutely worthless.

I will have to pay more attention to those offers and then call and see what other items I can use to upgrade. I guess I have been lucky since I have been able to use the free cruise certificates.

I called yesterday to ask for any news. I told the gentleman that I was booked on the April 8th sailing of the Freedom and I prebooked internet during one of the sales. I was not quite sure I was going to qualify for signature. He wouldn't tell me if he could or could not see my points, but he said I would be fine. He said to call back Monday or Tuesday to know for sure before I cancel the internet I booked in cruise planner. He said everything was going as planned for an April 1 rollout.

Not an offer per-se, but at the end of my last cruise on Rhapsody a couple of weeks ago, there was a certificate in my cabin from the casino for a free ocean view cabin cruise (had to pick from a list), or $750 off the cruise of my choice. I had already booked a cruise on the Allure for this December, so I called the CR number to apply the discount. It couldn't be combined with the $400 OBC I got through Next Cruise, but I did get to keep $100 OBC and then knock the $750 off after that. The agent also caught some additional discounts I could take advantage of. In all, I got:

30% NO REF DEP -$1353

CRBN NO REF DEP -$100

STE NO REF DEP -$500

ESCP NO REF DEP -$150

YHP5-Casino Offset - Slots -$750

Knocked my Grand Suite price (single cruiser) from $5258 down to $2295.
