How far is the train station from the port in Vancouver

Recommended Posts

Take a cab unless you have minimal luggage. There's no space for bags on the trains from Main Street, and it's unlawful to block seats or aisles - a $150 fine compares poorly with the ~$12 cab fare (and even if you get away with just bad karma, you don't save much unless you're a solo traveler - it's $2.85pp for SkyTrain, so share a cab with another couple and it's a wash to take a cab, plus no need to walk ~ 4 blocks).

Keep in mind.....

  • your ship docks around 7am....
  • the latest you can stay on the ship is around 9:30am
  • you will be on the street at 10am
  • the train does not leave Vancouver for another 7 hours later

Best thing to do is unload your luggage at the cruise terminal CDS baggage for a fee ($40?). Go sightseeing (Capilano? Grouse?) Return downtown around 3:30am to get your bags and taxi over to the bus/train terminal.

Another option is the Quick Shuttle that can take you from the cruise terminal for a Seattle drop off.
