Change to celebrity-m life partnership!!

Following up on some wonderful advice I recurred on this site, I contacted celebrity to add my mlife account to my reservation! The gentleman I spoke to at celebrity casino told me they could not link my card as they had not to date received any correspondence from mlife this month, therefore the perks were not available and you would not be able to use your card to accumulate points on the ship! I then called m life who advised that as of Jan 1 their partnership with celebrity had changed and indeed you could not accumulate points any more, however you should be able to receive the perks! She called celebrity on my behalf and was told they had not recieved this quarters list of perks therefore I could not register! To visit the casino once on board and hope for the best! Really?? The other catch is that they tell me in order to receive the benefits you need to register 10 days in advance! I have been days dealing with this and now we are down to a week from sailing! We are gold status! Pretty disappointing! Has anyone else run into this problem?

Yes! I called earlier this week to add my Mlife number and was told that Celebrity and Mlife had not yet signed their 2018 contract. Therefore, they could not add my Mlife number to my upcoming reservation. I was also told that in 2018 you would not be able to accumulate Mlife points while on a Celebrity cruise.

Just this week I was searching for the benefits between X & MGM on both web-sites & could not find them. If the partnership is over - that did not last long. We are Elite Plus on Celebrity & the only benefit we saw at MGM was you can to cut to the head in buffet lines - I think I can live with out it :)

That's too bad. It was such a great program over the last few years. I am elite with Celebrity and gold with Mlife so the perks kind of canceled themselves out while in Vegas but was able to take advantage of not only some great pricing on Celebrity cruises but also got some great perks on both Celebrity and Royal Caribbean.

We sailed in November much at the same time when they were changing the terms of the relationship. We did receive a great discount on our cruise and even though the new terms were being implemented, they grandfathered us in under the old rules, as the change took place just a couple of days prior to our sailing ... unbeknownst to us.

I think Celebrity (and probably RCCL) is going in the direction of their Blue Chip Club and slowly eliminating the perks of the relationship between Mlife and the cruiseline. That's too bad. We've enjoyed the discounts and perks since 2015. We still get discounts on NCL via Caesar's membership and on Princess based on our play whilst onboard previous cruises. But, this relationship was, by far, my favorite. Oh well ...

Just off the Equinox on Wednesday. I too encountered a confused operator on the mlife/celeb phone, but on the 3rd of Jan he took down my mlife number and i was issued an OBC for each of my next few upcoming sailings, including the one I just came off of. When i talked with the host on-board she confirmed that they are now issuing the credit rather than specialty restaurant comps. She also added me to the Fee-free list for using on-board account--easily the best perk in my book.

Hi! This is great news! When you spoke to someone who finally took your number was it a person from the celebrity line or mlife itself? Was it it the number listed on the celebrity site? And sorry this might be a silly question but what is the fee free perk? I am not familiar with it!

Thanks so much for your assistance!!

I just found this statement on the Celebrity website, but I couldn't locate a description of how to access onboard M-life benefits. Can any of you shed light on how to get cruise rate discounts or the free specialty that has been mentioned?

Caseycakes - Would you mind posting the Celebrity/MLife phone number since I can’t find it?

I just called the Celebrity Mlife number about having my Mlife Gold benefits added to my cruise reservation. According to the person I spoke to, the gold benefit is now $125 OBC, instead of the comped dinner. However, they won't give me the benefit because my reservation is part of a group rate. The group rate was offered by my TA and has nothing to do with MLife. I thought the Mlife benefits were related to thanking you for playing/encouraging you to play in their casinos.

Anyone else have any success?

Does anyone have a list of on cruise benefits for each of the M Life levels? I can't find a list of these anywhere. Are there any perks for members below the gold level? Thank you!

They used to be on the mlife website too, but that is gone now. Everything is taken off both sites, that used to be listed.

These two (group rates and Mlife) could never be combined, at least in my experience. You will either have to either give up your group rate or the perks through the Mlife tier match.

To my recollection, there really weren't any perks other than being able to draw money onto your account for no charge ... otherwise, it is a 5% fee, at least that is what it was on my last cruise).

The list of benefits are gone from both sites as of the time these changes were implemented.

My latest cruise I booked was under this promotion. I called the Celebrity Casinos promotion group and gave them my Mlife membership number. If not already on the list, they will have to contact Mlife to verify your status was earned through play on their land based casinos and not by any other method (credit card, tier match, etc). Once verified, you will be given the discount or comp on your cruise... depending on your Mlife tier status.

Royal Caribbean, the parent company of Celebrity, sends out quarterly emails instead. Celebrity might be going in this direction as well. This is just an assumption of mine but due to the verbiage used in the statement above, 'Exclusive Quarterly Offers'. This is how RCCL has been doing it for years.

If you've earned your status through spend MGM/Mirage, be sure to have them link your Mlife and Celebrity numbers to one another in order to receive these emails. I think calling or emailing the Mlife casino promo desk is how you would go about this. That's how I did it in the past.

You are charged a 5% fee for taking out money in the casino against your onboard account. This fee is waived for Mlife members ... at least it has been in the past.

I just called the number and was told nothing is available at this time, but to check back after a deal is signed between the two companies.

The published perks may sound only so so, but trust me they're better than that. We had several free comp nights at the Aria just before Christmas due to our status (Gold at the time because we are Elite). We then hit Elite Plus so upgraded to Platinum. I'm currently sitting at the Las Vegas airport after using 3 free nights at the MGM Grand. We have more free nights at Bellagio, Mirage, Aria, Luxor, etc. to use with very very little blackout dates. We spend a good amount of money eating out and drinking on the property but we are not huge huge gamblers.

Get your MLife account set up and linked and keep an eye on the comp nights and promotions. Each of our comp bookings also came with at least $50 in food and bev credit plus some play credit here and there.

I am totally confused by your post. We are Elite Plus and upgraded our M Life account to Platinum. The only benefits we have ever gotten (have done this for a couple years) are free valet parking, front of line buffet, and a choice of one perk (Mandalay Bay Shark Reef, Mirage Sigfried and Roy Garden, etc.). A couple years ago we got an upgrade to a suite, but last year they said the only upgrades they are allowed to offer now are Strip views (big deal). We have never, ever, in multiple visits gotten any other comps and certainly no free nights. Are we doing something wrong?! We are not big gamblers, but then you said you are not either. Our preferred property is Mirage but would consider other properties if we could get free nights. Help!!

How do you upgrade based on your Captains Club status?

How do you upgrade based on your Captains Club status?

Call the M Life desk at one of the resorts. You will need your Celebrity Captains Club number and then you need to bring them (or fax/scan them) proof of your status by printing off the page on the Celebrity site
