Cyclone Gita

They got ahead of it and pretty sheltered where they are. I heard from a friend in Wellington that it's got quite windy there, but that is nearly 350 miles south. It's bad on the west coast of the South Island. They'll be ok.

Never doubted that Phil.

The Ship tracker I was looking at must be out of date.

This morning it was showing them just off Wellington.

As mentioned here, we were ahead of the cyclone. Captain said if we weren’t leaving Napier at 1pm he would have brought departure forward, but we were so we got a good run on it. However the green apples and ginger appeared at guest relations, and we had a fairly rough night. Nothing that stopped us from sleeping as we were in 4044 but I spoke to a lady in one of the forward penthouses who said she came down to nap on one of the 4th floor lounges at about 3am as she kept getting thrown out of bed. Note, that is what she said, I can’t attest to it obviously.
