Thanks for the pictures of the seafood tower and your reply to another member that the top shellfish were cooked (boiled or steamed).

Did you eat the clams? Were they all good?

The reason we ask is my wife zoomed in on the photo and some of the clams "are not opened up after cooking," a sign up here (for her) in the Northeast with Atlantic 'steamer clams that they were dead prior to or during cooking. She also can give a tap to then with a spoon in preparation for any that are already open (if they stay open, or the neck doesn't retract, she tosses them).

There is great debate on this, however the American Cancer Society states such regarding clams, mussels and oysters.

Other counter positions relate to the strength of the muscle is 'so joined causal to keeping such shut.

There are a few other areas where the floors are quite slippy, going from the Deck 7 pool into the Library and the glass floor near the Casino.

We have been to Magens bay which we found quite nice and visited Blackbeard's castle where they make Rum, have a pool and a bar with great views and a nice walk back down towards town through the old colonial houses.

With regard to the schooner tour, we have never done it so cannot offer any advice on it.

The Limmin zip lines were still closed over Xmas as was the underwater scooter bike and seabed walk.

Unfortunately, Blackbeard's is closed still, due to excessive hurricane damage.

I ate the clams but I prefer mussels.

If you want something close to ship....Margaritaville is right off the port and close to all the shops by the dock. gives you 2 options...Beach it or go with the crowd and hang by the winding pool and flowrider. Also has a swim up bar

Valentina is very helpful and was great with us, you may find it in your cabin later.

Some people really do need taking down a peg or two from their high horses, Maybe if the hellhole is that bad she might want to get off at Grand Turk and make her own way home.

We looked at the NY sailings and they are quite high price wise, we looked at the Canada sailing.

Hopefully those of you on that tour will get some if not all of your money back

Make sure you are not going winter time from NY.We did it once and I can tell you, I regret every minute of it. Going in-out NY is very very bad.

It’s one of the 3 cruises in October.

The price quoted on board is identical to the price in the U.K..

Thanks again for posting Nikki.

The Sea food tower looks enough for ten people. What a ridiculous amount of food. Maybe it’s just the way it looks in the picture.

The comment about the 7 x 15 workweek is an eye opener. There must be more to it.

Anyways thank for posting. Keep it coming.

Also think will be a lot of unhappy bunnies on board today as there has just been an announcement that at least 4 of today’s tours have been cancelled!!!

It’s the water based ones.

The captain also announced that wind speeds of 25 knots had been expected and we got 35 to 40!

Hi Nikki

Many thanks for your posts.......very entertaining :D

May I ask a question about the spa? Did they try to sell products to you?

I used to love going to the spa on cruises, but gave it up after some hugely embarrassing sales pitches. I was wondering if MSC is any different :)

The scallops are bay scallops, which are very small compared to Sea Scallops. They look normal sized in your picture.

What does look small is the Shrimp Alfredo. Only 3 shrimp? I'd probably would order 2 of each!

Now to last nights dinner this was the second Elegant night, btw tonight is the 70’s night.

Don’t know what’s happened to the Italian or Mediterranean night unless they do for the last night?

Anyway now for the menu.

I had the scallops btw and they are tiny little things the size of a little finger nail! Personally I would choose a different starter next time!

...."Also re today’s tour we have put in a complaint along with most of the other people who were on it!They said they will get back to us later so watch this space!..."

Nikki what was it that you were complaining about on the tour?

I never thought about saying anything to anyone onboard. I just put it down to poor choice on our part an expensive waste of time cruise trip and know better for next time.

Do you think they are taking the passengers compaints seriously enough that you will get some kind of recompense for it?

Will definitely be interested to hear what if anything they do.

A few years ago I took a tour through Royal Caribbean which I felt was terrible and complained about and was refunded half of the cost which I thought was fair.

Right at the end just said they had a cream that would be good for my skin, I just said no thanks I already had a skin regimen.

No pushing!

Hi Nikki,

Great thread. Re New York sailings, have you priced MSC USA?

8th Oct Sailing working out at $1928, two people inside Fantastica with 24hrs Internet credit, mealtime drinks & $25 obc plus the 12 drink vouchers that Fantastica cabins receive anyway. That's with 5% voyagers club applied, taxes & fees.

Eagerly anticipating Lirica Dubai to Venice, March '19 hence our renewed interest in all things MSC.

Regards

Mark & Heather

Thank you for taking the time to do this!

The food pics have certainly eased our concerns about the MDR, especially after reading all of the negative reviews.

We're looking forward to seeing the Seaside in person in a week. Just a quick question, have you noticed many children on board? We'll be sailing with our two boys, and I am curious about how 'busy' the kids' clubs are. Nothing really concerns me, just curiosity more than anything.

Enjoy your last couple of days. Happy sailing.
