Looking at the map I got last time in Mazatlan I realized we could have walked to the Malecon and enjoyed some beach time.

This looks like a wrong I can right on my next trip in February. Has any been there?

We walked back to the ship from the cliff divers. I don't remember beach areas along the way. Perhaps they are farther north in the Golden Zone??

I think it is easier to walk to the water taxis and go to Stone Island for your beach time.

The map shows the beach south of the cliff divers...Hmmm.....

But since you mentioned it, are the cliff divers worth seeing?

"Worth it" is different to everyone.

If you are out and about nearby I'd stop off to watch for a short time.

I wouldn't go out of my way to see them.

We were nearby at a museum so it was convenient.

Sorry that I didn't notice beach spots.

OK sooo This web site describes the "best" beaches in Mazatlan.

Most are either north in the Golden Zone or Stone Island.

The one beach they mention by the Malecon starts around the Fisherman's Monument which is north of the Cliff Divers(clavadistas?)

This map shows the cliff diver location and then north of that the Fisherman's Monument:

I agree with Riffatsea, in regards to the Cliff divers. We hailed a pulmonia driver and asked him to take us around the area and specifically to see the divers. It was pretty cool to watch them dive but they are quite aggressive when asking for large tips. We watched for a short time and then moved on.
