I’ll be getting on board the day you get off! Celebrating my son’s graduation! I would love to know if they offer a day or week pass to the spa facilities, and what the cost is. When we were on the Dream years ago, they had a special day pass on the last day. But I can’t remember the price. Have fun!

On board our flight to New Orleans and my lack of sleep is definitely catching up with me. I foresee a head back, mouth wide open nap in my near future.

Some pretty views tonight as we were landing in New Orleans.

Tonight we’re staying at the Hilton New Orleans Airport since I knew we’d be getting in later in the evening and would just be looking for a place to sleep for the night. It was a quick three minute shuttle ride from the airport and pretty much your standard Hilton room. Definitely good for one night.

While we were eating at Midway waiting for our flight we received the following from Carnival about our cruise and Alberto:

Appreciate hearing from them even if there’s no definitive news. We’ll see what their 9 am update brings.

Considering I’ve been awake since 3 am EDT I’m amazed I’m still upright and semi-functional. But the bed is calling my name. Catch you on embarkation day!

We made it on board in what to me seems like record time. Left the airport Hilton at noon; arrived at 12:25 for our 12:30-1 pm check in window and on board by 12:50. I’ll admit mom being in a wheelchair does tend to move us to some shorter lines so that definitely factors in. Just hanging out in the lobby until our room is ready so we can unload our carry on bags and then head up to Lido to eat.

I can already tell this cruise is going to be crowded.

Wow, we had the same boarding time (12:30) 3 weeks ago and it was 1:00 before we even got into the building. :(

As concerned as I was about the weather I have to say today has turned out to be PERFECT.

Captain just made an announcement about Alberto and said there will be no changes to our itinerary. He said it may be windy and we may encounter some swells tonight but they will do their best to steer clear.

In the meantime I’m diggin’ this cove balcony. I reserve the right to change that opinion if we encounter rough seas.

Monday, May 28 (Day 2 - At Sea)

Slept in a bit this morning and I can’t say it was particularly rocky or rough at all overnight. Skies are a bit cloudy at the moment but hoping for some clearing later.

We skipped the dining room last night and just opted for dinner on Lido - neither of us was very hungry since we ate lunch a bit later. After dinner we went to the casino - mom hit a nice jackpot on a Quick Hit machine and I ended up about even after playing a few hours, which is a win in my book. I took a break from playing for a bit and had a drink at Alchemy and enjoyed listening to the band playing in Ocean Plaza (Sweet Chin Music is the name).

Having coffee on the balcony and then I think we’ll head to brunch; after that maybe check out the shops. I’m sure mom will end up in the casino and I might find somewhere to chill out and read.
