Have you been in cabin 8174 or 7210 (Summit)?

8172 is a Premium Ocean view Cat 1B which is 191 sq ft stateroom and 41 sq ft veranda.

8174 is a cat 9 inside stateroom with 170 sq ft. All the inside cabins are 170 sq ft (and some of the outside cabins as well).

We had our son and 2 other young men (20, 19 and 17 yrs old) in an inside on the Zenith, and they had plenty of room, your kids should be fine.

We returned from cabin 8172 a couple of weeks ago, room was good, balcony was HUGE, i mean really huge, we had plenty room for 4 loungers 4 chairs a table aquired from the pool deck ( cabin steward was good at finding us one) and a couple of small tables. I reckon it was one of the best balconies on the ship, plenty room for parties, eating breakfast, etc. So size of 8174 shouldnt be a problem, you will just have company most of the time(we did), everyone wanted to come and see our huge balcony, might have spoiled us for our next cruise though,( 3 weeks in an inside cabin on the saphire )

We have stayed twice in 8174 and would do it again in a heartbeat. We also thought this cabin was smaller when we first booked it....it is not your imagination...when you look at the layouts it does look smaller. This cabin is exactly the same as other inside units but other than neighbours across the hall with the balconies it is completely isolated. This has been the quietest inside unit we have ever had. It will be wonderful for your children as you do not have to worry about neighbours on either side if they make any noise.

8172 is one of the many staterooms whose category is being revised to "Concierge Class". No more Category 1's. Don't know the date of the changeover for Summit, but it could be right after the drydock which happens at the end of January 2005.

(We've sailed in that stateroom on Constellation and are booked in 8172 on Millenium way off in the future and it's been reclassified.)

Considering booking 8172 (outside balcony) for my wife and I and 8174 (inside) directly across the hall for our kids. On the ship legend 8174 looks to be very small. Or, same question for 7210 on Vitsa deck.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

We booked inside 7050, this Inside cabins are vertically oriented, the bed is in the back wall. With this distribution, space is used more.
