Toulon, France - land excursions

Recommended Posts

Be sure to verify if your ship stops in La Seyne Sur Mer, where most large ships go, or Toulon, Provence. Two different ports. Our cruise called the stop the latter, actual port was the former.

If La Seyne Sur Mer, no tour recommendation, but this post helped us plan our transportation into Toulon and the rest of our day there:

We were docked at La Seyne Sur Mer, and in lieu of taking a ferry or bus to Toulon, we walked into the town. It was so charming we went back that afternoon for a second stroll. Nothing spectacular, just a "real" town with a street market, churches, grocery store, etc. The waterfront park has markers showing the history of ship building there. A nice, non-touristy day.
