combining staterooms into a new booking?

If we book a balcony and our friends book an inside room, can we all go in together for a 2 bedroom suite upgrade?

We're within final payment.

We usually use a certain PCC, and they are currently on vacation. If we book with the "on-call PCC," who gets the sale?

Possible: Yes

Probably - very slim.

By policy, you would have to CANCEL the existing rooms, then book the new one. Big financial loss.

If you can find someone at NCL that is willing to talk with you, it is possible. Most people hit a brick wall.

No that is not possible op. The faq's of the upgrade bid say that the upgrade is valid only for one cabin (the one who made the bid and won) and people on a possible second cabin cannot be switched to the upgraded cabin even if there would be enough room in the new cabin.

What you might be able to do, depending on the situation.

AFTER you win the bid, you might be able to add a 3rd and 4th passenger at a very low rate. Check on that all by itself. If the price is right, your friends could then CANCEL their reservation and forfeit their payment, and then get added to yours.

BUT - you would have to be very careful. There are lifeboat limits in every section of the ship. So, even if you could book 2 more into your cabin at 1:30pm does not mean you could do it at 2:00pm Things change.

But, if you do all of this right, it can be done.

BUT - you are NOT combining reservations. You are adding two people to yours. And a totally separate non refundable cancellation.

garycarla has some very good insight wisdom on your options.

Also be careful here about the both of you losing any perks promos OBC etc.

NCL is very negative (finicky) about doing any changes sometimes even in light of NCL making a boat load of $$$ !

The Guest folks on the ship and at Registration sure would like to help but there is always that someone in

corporate who throws the anchor thru the hull of the ship sinking any reasonable deals !

Good Luck don't be afraid to try something by bid/offer - if the ship cruise is not sailing full you might have a chance limited as it is but nothing ventured nothing gained !

IF we don't get the upgrade, create a new inside room reservation for the other 2 adults.

the only problem with this is you might miss some promotions like on board credit, the free at sea perk and so on for the inside cabin. if all you want is a room without perks, then it could work.

Thank you for all your responses! If I can't combine 2 into 1, how about this? Book 4 adults in a balcony room and then bid for an upgrade to a 2 br, suite. IF we don't get the upgrade, create a new inside room reservation for the other 2 adults.

If you are within final payment, you will be penalized for canceling one of the cabins.

If you are within final payment you are subject to cancellation penalties. So if you pay 1st and 2nd rate on the first two in the balcony, then 3rd and 4th rate on the second two. If you don’t get your upgrade you will face cancellation penalties on the 3rd and 4th fare, so it will be more than just the cost of adding an inside room.

And with the bidding decisions, going until right before sailing, do you really think you will just be able to pick up an inside?

If this cruise is an ordinary- off peak Dec Caribbean cruise, then maybe. Many others, big risk. So you would HAVE to be accepting of remaining 4 to a cabin.
