Laundry on Volendam

How much was the cost to send out a bag of clothes? I thought I saw this before, but could not find it.

Usually $20 for as much as you can stuff into a bag.

Some itineraries -- like Europe -- the cost is $30.

We used the ship's laundry for the first time on our Volendam cruise and I actually think the laundry bag was a pretty good value at $20. Even at $30 it would be better than an additional checked bag fee. I don't know how good we did compared to others, but with the rolling method I managed to fill a bag with:

3 long sleeve dress shirts

3 pairs of walking shorts (two of which were heaver jersey knit)

5 t-shirts

1 sweater (lightweight cotton)

6 pairs of underwear

9 pairs of socks

and still felt like I could have gotten one more shirt/pair of shorts and another few pairs of something small, if I'd had any more laundry that needed doing.

Is the By The Bag thing common to all cruise lines? I could seeing it becoming an essential part of our packing strategy in future.
