Ultra Cruises

Hello, my DH and I have spent a decent amount of time in the casinos. I wondered why we heard nothing. I thought I would be emailed. We also cruise all different lines. What I was wondering is how would someone be invited to theses Ultra or Premier cruises? I need to start paying more attention especially since we cruise every 6 months now. Any help would be appreciated.

I see you have some cruises on NCL. If so, were you using a players card?

You could always try calling Casinos at Sea, tell them when your last cruise was on Norwegian or give them both of your Latitudes numbers.

Ask if you qualify for a reduced price or comped cruise. That's a start, then depending on your play on board you can earn added comps/benefits for future cruises. We now cruise 4 times a year on NCL and I now have earned guaranteed On Board Credit (OBC) for each cruise based on my players club Tier plus other some other benefits.

Hi FBB3, couple points to make.

Hi FBB3, couple points to make:

(1) Do you really want to be on a Premier cruise? Casino is very crowded making it hard to get on a table or machine. I was on a Premier (as a regular guest - not Premier) before I knew what a Premier was. That was the only cruise that I did not get a bounce back from Carnival as there were too many others spending more time in the casino and betting bigger than me.

(2) Carnival is telling people you have to go on a Premier and rack up at least 7500 points on the Premier cruise before you might see an Ultra invite.

(3) Cruising "all different lines" actually counts against you. NCL has annual tiers where the more you cruise with them (and rack up points in the casino each cruise) brings better comps. Royal Caribbean is implementing something similar early in 2018. If you are expecting to be rewarded for your casino play with comps it is probably better to do your multiple cruises on a single cruise line.

Thanks I agree about sticking with one line. We really like NCL and have another booked in Aug. We also are sailing in three weeks on Carnival. I’m going to start paying better attention to our points.

With NCL, you gain Tier status at 5000 points made between April 1st and March 31st of the year. If you think you might be getting close to that, you can email CAS and ask for your points year to date. It would be a shame to miss it by a small amount of points. It also might be worth it for both of you to play on the same card. (The CAS desk will make you additional).

Hi. I know this is an old post, but I’ll tell you what we do. We usually play on mostly one of our cards. That’s a little harder on a cruise because you’re using your room card. We take turns. That way your points aren’t split in half. I get all the casino offers. My husband gets one in a blue moon because we always use my card. It doesn’t matter because the Premier Cruise is for two anyway.

We’ve never been invited on an Ultra Cruise until now. They had a deal where if you attend a Premier Cruise within a certain time period, you would be invited to an Ultra. I’m excited because they’re supposed to have awesome prizes. The previous poster is correct. It gets so crowded in the casino cruises that I can’t ever wrack up enough points. I’m surprised they still invite me.

While the more popular slot games may be filled, I don't pay too much attention to the slot machines, I've never had trouble finding a spot at the craps table, blackjack, or roulette wheel. Sometimes, I may have to wait a few minutes, but no more.

I've sailed on a premier sailing, but was never part of the "premier" group. I've received elite, ultra, and premier sail offerings that I've booked for later this year.

Does anyone know what happens if you win a jackpot and don't have your own card in the machine? Do you sit together and just use one card? I can see how this would be okay. Husband and I don't like to play the same machines so we don't sit even near each other. I did ask the casino host if I could use the free play on my husband's card on the last night of a cruise. He was already in bed when he remembered. She said it was okay. Don't know if this is normally okay or not.
