Can someone tell me if my debarkation day plan for Galveston is stupid?

Got a 5:20pm flight out of Hobby debarkation day. I'm looking at getting a Galveston Express shuttle around 1 or 2. I've seen references to The Cruise Stop a block over from the cruise port for storing luggage, so I'm thinking of leaving luggage there when we get off and wandering around Galveston for awhile, then get the luggage and go back into the cruise port to catch the shuttle.

Will they let me do that, or do I need to catch the shuttle from somewhere in town?

I recommend calling Galveston Express and asking if they take returning passengers that late.

Sounds like a great plan to me. The Strand area by the pier is tailor made for walking, sightseeing, and killing some time.

If you are flying Southwest out of Hobby, they won't check your bags until 4 hours before the flight. So you really DON'T want to get to the airport early.
