Hi:

I just wanted to begin by saying there is a Florida Departures Board where this should be posted. The moderator will likely more it there.

I would see what the ship has in the way of post cruise excursions.

If that is not something you are interested in, then I would consider renting a car.

Fort Lauderdale airport has a free shuttle to downtown and for a small fee they have a shuttle going by the beach, a mall (can't remember the name of it), and a touristy part of downtown with plenty of shops and restaurants. And the airport has luggage storage for the day until about 5pm. We had a late flight on our last cruise and that's what we did......

National, Alamo, Thrifty and Enterprise offer a free shuttle from POM to the MIA airport car rental center - show the bus driver your reservation paperwork. Put the bags in the trunk and then go where you want - South Beach, Hollywood boardwalk, Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi. http://www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area tourist info.

If you choose not to rent a car you can Uber to FLL for about $36 or use a shared shuttle (SAS, QLS, GO Airport and others) for about $15 per person; you can pay to store your bags at FLL and then you can explore.
