We are looking at taking small group on the March 2019 repositioning cruise from Singapore to London on Sapphire Princess.

Interested in reviews/impressions/feedback on folks that have taken this cruise--in either direction. It is reversed in the Fall.

Thanks!

An e-Visa (as opposed to a tradional visa), is US$51.25

We're booked on this cruise and received the following today:

INDIA VISA UPDATE

Please be advised that the visa information for India has recently been updated on your voyage. Most nationalities, including U.S., Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, and U.K. passport holders, require a visa for India if staying aboard or going ashore. While we previously did not recommend electronic visas (e-Visas) for India, we are pleased to report that Indian immigration has waived the biometric screening requirement for e-Visas through 31 December 2020, making this a valid option for your cruise if you are going ashore. Apply for an e-Visa at: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html. You will be able to pay for and process the visa online. The e-Visa must be obtained at least 4 days in advance of travel, and cannot be obtained more than 120 days before travel. Guests must bring a print-out of their e-Visa showing "GRANTED" to cruise check-in.

We were recently on a cruise that called into India. The e-Visa was only for people arriving by air, not by ship. Those on the ship had to have the 'proper' visa. At the check-in for the cruise, the staff were carefully checking the visas but I don't know if those with an e-visa were allowed to board the ship.

Edit: I now see the post that came in before mine regarding the e-visa. It is great that this is now acceptable.
