Iconic Western Mediterranean - what lens

Recommended Posts

24mm to 105mm on full-frame (18-70 or so on the D90 ) will cover almost all your photos anywhere unless you're a dedicated birder or real estate photographer. Very wide angles may come in handy inside buildings of in crowded markets to show more of the scene and a long telephoto might highlight ship to shore shots, but the wide to short telephoto is the most used range overall.

If you are looking for ease of use with no lens changes, the 18-200 mentioned above is a good choice for all-around travel photography with the D90.

If you are purchasing or renting, an 18-200 would be sufficient or I would go with my 18-400 as primary with possibly a nifty fifty with a low aperture for indoor shooting where allowed (not critical). I would also carry my 12-18 to use on the ship when sailing in an out, depending on schedule for some ports
