Embarkation time in Auckland (??)

We are on the Sun Princess departing Auckland on January 13, 2018.

It states that we can come aboard between 1 pm and 4 pm. Departure is at 10 pm.

We will be touring the area with some friends during the day and would like to wait til later to board. I was thinking of having an early dinner with them before boarding.

I know we need to be on board no later than 90 (?) minutes before they leave but can we still board between 4 pm and 8 pm with no problems?

It will depend of what arrangements they have with NZ authorities - they may not staff the passport control desks after 4pm.

You might need to contact Princess on this issue.

They may also require you to be on board for the muster drill which is often late afternoon

My guess (and that is what it is) is that if they say check-in finishes at 4pm, then I suggest you do so otherwise you may not be able to do so later, boarding may still be closer to 8.30pm though.

Best to check with princess though.
