Where do we board?

Our Danube Waltz Cruise departs on Dec 22 and our online account still lists both docks in Passau as possible options. It really is not acceptable to not have specific info on where we need to go so close to our departure date as we need to arrange ground transportation. How do we get this info?

Passau is busy these days with ships, but small enough to get around easily as Got2Cruise has pointed out. Taxis in Passau are very well aware of the situation with the ships and you can hire one at short notice. If you need trasportation from further away and the documents do not state the dock of your ship you can always phone the customer help line or the ship itself, the number should be given in your documents.

Please note that a docking place can change at short notice, it is not unusual and not the cruise line's decision.

Have a great cruise.

You will find that -- compared to ocean cruises -- there are many differences in river cruising, especially for those who are used to doing lots of research and making independent plans. You will have a better time (or at least a less frustrating one) if you try to "go with the flow."

Many thx to those familiar with boarding in Passau who posted. We got an email address for the ship and hope that will give us the info we need. But great to know the distance between the docks isn’t great.

Just keep in mind that even if they give you an answer now it can change by the time the ship actually gets there, which can be on the morning of the day you board.

So the cruise lines will often give you a phone number to use on the day...

We experienced the same as Skiladyldp when we sailed from Passau a couple of years ago....except we didn't know which dock until we got off the train and asked a taxi driver....he of course knew exactly where the boat was docked.

Have a great cruise!
