Equinox Aft Facing Veranda Cabins-Which Are The Better Ones?

We're considering our first Celebrity cruise on the Equinox. Can anyone comment on which aft facing veranda cabins are the better ones and which cabins we might want to avoid?

Thanks for any input!

Well, I've only just seen this one :-)

We like 6312 (much wider balcony) and if you look at the deck plan, the ones in a line upwards are the same size.

They are lovely,( although a long walk to the centre elevators) and we've the same one booked again for our next 2 cruises

Good luck

Hi,

Well, if you want a shaded balcony (overhang)...those on Deck 12, however, they are also under public space, so some folks are bothered by/report some amount of noise (scraping chairs etc). As stated...2152 or 6312, and all cabins directly below/above, are the widest balconies (there is a storage closet in the hallway). We have stayed in 2152 and 2157, and loved the completely covered balcony. We have also stayed in 9303 and 9305, and the balcony of 9305 was one of the narrowest. Here is a pic, and you can make out some of the different width balconies:

The SV wide balcony cabins are wonderful if you can get one (e.g. 6312). Would have one again in a heartbeat, but they are booked early these days, by those who have also found these out!

WE are in cabin 1667. We love the aft of the ship! Relaxing and quiet for us. WE just tried a CC on the Summit that was mid ship and liked it but we missed the aft. Not everyone likes the aft:)

We just got off the Equinox yesterday morning. We were in C1 #1674, right in the center on deck 11. We loved the cabin since it had a wider balcony. We really had no soot. We did have plenty of sun. Our attendant, Igede was very good. Our only issue was that the bed orientation makes you rock head to foot rather than side to side like in a regular verandah cabin. Our sailing had extremely rough seas the first three days/nights and it was quite unsettling rocking heat to foot so vigorously. Other than that we loved thus cabin.

We also were just off the Equinox 3/13. We were in Aft Cabin 7364. Nice to have the wider balcony. Cabin was very quiet except for the wake which is quite loud but couldn't hear it with door closed. No soot issue, probably because it was extremely windy this cruise. Would I book an aft again considering the extra cost? Probably not. Also quite a walk to the elevator/stairs.

We've stayed in 1667 and 1670 and have 1668 booked for 2018, albeit on Eclipse. In our opinion, Deck 11 is the "sweet" spot. You're as high up as you can get, while still having a buffer between your cabin and the bar.

As much as we love Aft cabins on many ships, we are not fans of them on the S class.

Hate the stair-stepped design, the lack of cover and the soot. Much prefer on the hump, some of which have much larger balconies than any on the Aft (save suites). There are a few 2Cs that have big balconies, almost no obstruction and are some of the cheapest on the ship.

So, it is a long way to most places on the ship, but the wake makes up for it. I have never had soot in an S1 corner aft, at least not so far. It is just a very relaxing spot to be, take a nap, read, daydream or enjoy! Many of the other cabins have larger decks than normal and the photo of the aft is a great way to see the differences. Good luck on your choice!

was the bed by the sliding door to the balcony?

In July, we were in an S1 7307 on the Equinox and loved it. There was a little bit of soot on a few days, but not a deal breaker for us. Our cabin steward was very conscientious about washing off our patio furniture twice a day.

Loved the view and would book again ... actually, we have the same cabin on the Eclipse for our Ireland/Iceland cruise in May 2018.
