SPEED: 16 Knots maximum
LOADED DISPLACEMENT: 3291 tonnes at 4.20 draft
CLASS Llloyds +100 A1. SOLAS 2010 compliant.

PASSENGER CLASSIFICATION: UK Department of Transport (MCA) Class I
'Hebridean Spirit' is currently completing annual docking and refit at Cape Town, and will recommence cruising from 20th December.

Not entirely surprised. They seemed to be promoting that ship constantly - which was quite different to what they did with Princess, and seemed to speak of lower booking rates. Perhaps a Scottish country house hotel approach goes down better in Scotland than the Med.

I am not surprised either, I requested info from them twice on their web site and on neither occasion anyone replied. I think the bigger problem may be that when they had one small ship it seemed to run efficiently like a small family business, now with three times the availability the management may not be able to cope with the step up in enquiries and necessary supervision. When these cruise lines loose money, boy do they bleed..........
Lets hope they are able to dispose of the Spirit quickly and they survive well past 2009.

However I received an invitation from the company to sail on this ship end of May, so I guess they are business as usual until she sells
