Lunch Reservations?

I have another newbie question: on Mariner are Prime 7 and/or Signatures open for lunch and, if so, can we make reservations in advance? We have our dinner reservation in each but if they do lunch it would be nice to try that too.

The only ship where lunch is served in Prime 7 and Signatures is the Explorer (no reservations needed). On Mariner, Voyager and Navigator lunch is served in La Veranda, Compass Rose and the Pool Grill.

Oops, TravelCat2, I think you mean Chartreuse, not Signatures (on Explorer), right?

Oops - thanks for catching that. After 25 nights on Mariner where they still have Signatures (at least for another couple of months), I forgot about Chartreuse.

Is there a reason that only the Explorer offers lunch in these restaurants?

While I don't know, my first thought was "because she is special". Actually, they couldn't really do it on the Navigator because of the tight quarters that Prime 7 and La Veranda/Sette Mari share. On Mariner, I suspect that Prime 7 and soon to be Chartreuse is smaller than Explorer. In order to close Compass Rose, the other dining venues need to be large enough to accommodate all the guests.

They are both only open on sea days. Otherwise it is one or the other.

Thanks for clarifying, Tom. We had so many seadays on the TA, I forgot that only one specialty restaurant was open on port days.

Hope to cruise with you and Susie on Navigator April 2020.
