Visiting medical center

I’ve been advised by my doctor to take my blood pressure at least three times per week. I really hate to pack my BP machine as it takes up space and weight. Can one visit the medical center for having your blood pressure taken without being billed for a doctor visit?

If there are extra charges for taking your BP machine with you I'd bet they would be far outweighed by the cost of one visit to the medical center let alone three a week.

I agree. That’s why I want to know if they would charge for taking BP. If yes, I will bring my own.

Answer is probably yes.

We have a digital wrist cuff blood pressure monitor that weighs less than a pound and is easy to pack. The readings seem to be accurate as they coincide with the readings taken in our physician's office. The link below is for one like the cuff we use. You might consider getting something similar.

If you can possibly be charged for a routine BP check(s) then you probably will be. Taking your own small gizmo would be a much more convenient and cheaper option.

Perhaps bring your own machine.

Cheaper to get a cuff bp reader.

Yes, that's the basic fee, and it goes up from there. Chest X-ray is supposed to be $200, and medications are marked up quite a bit.

Panasonic makes a travel bp monitor. More reliable than a cuff monitor. Takes up no room

I have a Withings blood pressure cuff that plugs into my iPhone. It rolls up and fits easily into my bag. The readings are accurate too and the app records them all so I can check those with other health stats (like my sleep, heart rate, and activity).
