My husband and I will be staying in OSJ for a few days before our cruise. My family will be flying down the day before the cruise and staying at the Marriott Stellaris in the Condado area. We'll be meeting them at their hotel on Friday evening (Good Friday) for dinner. Are there any decent restaurants within walking distance that will be open? Thanks!

Don’t worry you won’t starve.

Starvation is not imminent, but a picky, hard to please family is guaranteed. Thanks for your suggestions, Bebos looks promising!

We just ate at Buns Burgers in Condado and it was soooo good! Not too badly priced either. We ubered a lot and most places were only $3-4 to get there.

That might be a good choice if you have picky eaters and just want to get food in their bellies. It's kind of like Fudrucker's, you build your own gourmet burgers and all-beef hot dogs. Reasonably priced and right across the street from the Marriott driveway.

If you want to try some real, authentic family-style Puerto Rican food without remortgaging your house, a block and a half to the west (right as you leave the Marriott) just beyond Walgreen's is Orozco's. You can try your first mofongo there, but they also have food that should satisfy most of the fussy people in your group... roast chicken, steak etc. You can ask the concierge or front desk at the hotel; they highly recommend it.

And finally, if you want something a bit more exotic but also inexpensive, there's Ali Baba, to the right of and kind of behind the burger place. Hummus and freshly-baked lavash bread to die for, chicken or lamb shwarma, dolmas (grape leaves), Greek salads, baklava for dessert.

DANG IT! I now have to wipe the drool off of my keyboard. I'm not going until May but I cannot wait to get back to Condado!

Have fun!!!

Jana
