Hey all.... going on my first ever cruise in June and while booking we bought the Ultimate Beverage Package. Looking over the details I noticed that it includes any drink “up to $15”...... what’s the average drink price for normal drinks: Rum & coke, 7&7, glass o’ wine etc.

Thanks!! Y’all rock!

They keep sneaking up, but similar to land based restaurant/lounge prices. I'm thinking in the $9 - $12 range usually. Anything over $15, you only pay the difference when you have the drink package. A good thing about the drink package is you can try drinks you would normally not want to take a chance on. And...also...no worry about the pour size. Just have another...and another.

Drink prices have gone wayyyyyy up......we just got off the Breakaway.....we did not get the drink package since we were on a casino deal and got free drinks while playing (IF YOU COULD FIND SOMEONE TO GET YOU A DRINK...) anyway....we did go to FatCats one night....and $10 each for a simple bar drink?????

And I almost fell over when I saw the $13.99 per person/per day daily service charge!!!

So, you may feel like you got a good deal on a cabin....but the nickle and diming is getting ridiculous ....

Also....note to self....in the future, I will only tip in cash....we ate mostly in the specialty restaurants (dining package + platinum) and we put additional tip on the receipt, but now I wonder, how much of that do our waiters/waitresses really get in the end....so, cash only...

Since you are in US you cannot remove the DSC on the ship. The front desk will give you a form to mail in AFTER the cruise for a refund.

Have you looked at he daily gratuity for other cruise lines? It's similar.

If you were on a land vacation and tipped each day for breakfast, lunch, dinner, maid the total wouldn't be too different.

Figure on about $10 - $12 for a regular drink. Most of your drinks are going to be covered. There are some exceptions though. On our cruise, three weeks ago, the Toro Toro cocktail in Food Republic was excluded - even though it was less than $15. The 3 oz pour of Veuve Clicquot at $13, was excluded. Near as I can tell, they use some Lucky Astrology Drink Pricing Dice to price some of this. This is where the Grey Goose Cherry Noir comes up being 70% more than regular Grey Goose.

Without the excess punctuation, what would you consider to be the appropriate price for a drink and for the DSC?

Before ncl came out with the UBP...............a simple bar drink was approx $7 at most....our last few cruises, we've had the UBP so I guess we didn't notice how much the price had gone up..............

I remember when the dsc was $8pp/pd ....and I believe it was $11 last time we had a regular cabin.......Last year we had a suite and did pay more ($14?) but I thought that was only for suites....

!@#$%^&*().....,,,,,,!!!!!!!???????;p;p:cool:

Last year, suites were $15.50pppd

Now, suites are $16.99pppd

Last year, non-suites were $13.50pppd

Now, non-suites are $13.99pppd

(not including NCL Sky)

Even if the DSC was $11 the last time that you sailed (years ago?) in a non-suite and is now $13.99 or was $14 and is now $16.99 for a suite, is $3 a day/$21 a week more really cause for alarm? The stateroom prices have gone up by hundreds/thousands pp.....THAT is cause for alarm.

I have to disagree with you about the land based vacation. $14 pp/pd would nto come close to covering 3 meals plus the cleaning people in your room, it would be closer to $25.pp/pd.

The drinks you are asking about are included. You only run into cost issues if you get something strange or if you insist on using some upscale liquor. Remember that if you are mixing your alcohol with anything other than water or soda, you can't tell whether the alcohol is top shelf or not.

Are you really complaining about $13.99 per day? Stop complaining and enjoy the cruise! $14 per day is NOTHING.
