Like others have, I have voted yes as it is basically a service charge. Tips should be given according to whether you feel you have been provided good service by certain members of crew, or when somebody has gone above and beyond to help you and you would like to show your appreciation. How much you give should not be dictated.

I think you are saying that grats should be absolutely at the customers discretion, but that takes us back to "are these tips for good service or are they just to pay their wages?" And which that is is not clear.

Why are you so concerned about whether people use OBC for gratuities ?

 

If you have booked select there is a strong chance that you will have OBC. I do not say that my OBC is for gratuities, I just consider my account as a whole and the OBC simply reduces the final total.

I agree.

My loyalty 7.5% discount doesn't kick in till obc is used up anyway.

Why is it nonsense, maybe English rather than metaphors would be good. If you use your obc you,are using money that has been given back to you, yes you,can use it as you want, but it is still extra cash on your account

And a good reason like picking your cabin and dining preference to always book Select.

I can only imagine that all those people jumping up and down boasting about taking their auto-grats off as soon as they step foot on board will be aghast at being duped into paying them by an increase in price.

 

I should not be surprised if P&O keep files on passengers and what they do and treat certain types of passenger they identify, in a better or not so good way.
