HAL's rules are very simple.

If you buy something in a port and want to send it home, you must go to a post office and buy boxes, etc. to have them sent home.

You might want to check what the store where you bought the items will charge to send the items to your home.

HAL does not allow you take items off the ship and then go to a post office to send them home. NOW -- I have no idea how HAL keeps tract of who takes items off the ship to send home.

I can't speak for packages of even the Cayman Islands but I do know in other ports, the mail doesn't run as fast as it does in the US. We've send postcards back home to family and friends from cruises and it literally took almost 2 months for them to get it. This was from various islands.
