Viking On Board Credit-Can it be used for tips?

Can Viking-provided (not TA) on board credit be used for tips? I know there was some discussion of this being permitted on the Ocean forum but my invoice states it can be used for shore excursions and beverage package. Any recent experiences?

I'm not sure if it works this way on the river cruises but on the ocean cruises, there is OBC and there is OBC. Some kinds can be used for grats and others can't. I would contact Viking directly and ask if your kind of OBC can be used for the gratuities.

P.S. -- Get it in writing so that if there is some disagreement on board, you have some back up.
