Port Everglades Terminal

I understand that Celebrity terminal in Port Everglades is under construction. We are renting a car and dropping it off at Budget. Does anyone know how far the Budget place is from the Convention Center?

It really depends what Budget location. There is a Budget location that is across the street from the convention center.

It is very close - almost (but not quite) within walking distance. According to their website, Budget will shuttle you over to the Conv Center or pier.

It really depends what Budget location. There is a Budget location that is across the street from the convention center.

It's walking distance (a few hundred yards) to the convention center if your ship happens to dock there but all of the other piers will require a short taxi ride.

The port is not closed. Some Silhouette sailings had to do embarkation and disembarkation at the Convention Center (the ship was not docked there). Sailings departing March 4, 11, and 18 are sailing from Miami. The February 25 sailing disembarks in FLL on March 4, then the ship dead heads it to Miami for the new sailing. From what I have been able to determine the use of the convention center was dependent on how many ships were in Ft. Lauderdale on the day Silhouette embarked/disembarked. We sail on 2/25 with 6 ships in port, and return 3/4 with 4 ships in port so our sailing should not be impacted. At least, we have not received any official word from Celebrity. When the CC was used there were 8 ships in port.

When is your sailing? If it is 2019 you should not have any issues with the Convention Center being used. This is a temporary inconvenience for a permanent improvement.:D

We sail on 4th Marchwhich is now from Miami. This is actually better for us as we arrive in Miami on the Eclipse and do not need to transfer to Port Everglades.

The downside is that the Silhouette now has later boarding in Miami.

Does anyone know where port parking will be located for the updated terminal for EDGE...? Would be nice not to have to take a shuttle...

Unless things have just changed, the March 18 cruise departs from FLL after it arrives in MIA from the March 11 cruise.

They will not be using the convention center again this season. That day there were 8 ships in port.

The are now alternating with Royal Caribbean's terminal 18 & 29 and on occasion terminal 26.

Just a word of warning. The parking situation at the port can be quite bad. When we sailed out, the parking lot for terminal 18 was full and we had to parking in lot 19. It took us over an hour to get out of the parking lot when we returned. According to the port, the delay was due to a large number of cars trying to get out and a slow outdated credit card system.

be prepared for a lot of people returning rental cars and not so nicely waiting for the next shuttle. There will be line cutting.. a not mob formed line .. aka a crowd

Just a suggestion. You can avoid all this nonsense at the port by parking at Park 'n Go, which is very close to the port. You drop your car with them and board a van to the port. The van driver has to deal with traffic and all that nonsense. Upon your return, you will usually find the van waiting to return you directly to your car. It's cheaper than parking at the port and far less hassle. I've done it both ways and much prefer Park 'n Go. You can also park there if flying to and/or from FLL.

Second the recommendation for using Park'N'Go. We generally do self debarkation and are off early and never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a shuttle.

We used this when we had our car in Florida and it was a very good service

That will be great... Seems I am confusing that Terminal location with the one way off to the right ( directionally challenged) next to a canal.....That's where we've been on Infinity, Equinox and Silhouette...awful!

The very modern nice one was where we got Oasis and once for an X ship b/c no Royal ship thst day,,,,

Best was berth closest to Convention Center.,.for Connie. Parked right out front, short walk...easy breezy!

Infinity is the only ship on May 2nd, I bet you'll use 18, the Oasis class terminal. Or maybe 4. You shouldn't have to worry about any construction.
