Boudicca cabin question

Booked on Baltic cruise on Boudicca - balcony cabin - but have read some reviews about the bed arrangement and others smoking, so thinking of looking for a change.

Anyone got views/reviews on junior suites on deck 5 (some talk of noise from galley below) and superior outside (A) on deck 7? Sailed on Black Watch last year in junior suite deck 7 but Boudicca only has them on 5. Any other suggestions? Grateful for any advice.

Galley is front of deck 6, so is above affected cabins. I have looked into those cabins last summer, I do not think all jnr suites are affected, but had read of noise from trollies overhead at unsocial hours in some cabins. Suggest you search for reviews of those cabins (on the net rather than just this site as others will pop up in the search). Reviews often give the cabin number.

Front of deck 7 have a very narrow 'prom' deck just outside their windows which bothers some people. Also we were on Boudicca in Oct/Nov and spoke to a couple of people who had noise from the officers mess which is above some of those cabins on the port side - seems they have some catering equipment for preparing snacks which is used through the night and can create noise if used carelessly (lid or door left to slam shut I think). Think they are nice, big cabins though if you can cope with any potential rough seas that far forward, but Baltic summer does not seem to be a high risk of rough seas.

We plumped for a terrace balcony, which was great - no smoking allowed on prom deck and the cabins are bigger than basic balcony cabins and are together across the middle of the cabin. Not everyones cup of tea as some want a private balcony.

If you are in a cabin and get problems when on the ship (e.g. smoke), Fred will try to move you to somewhere that is not affected if available, so always worth asking.

Happy searching.
