So there were 6 lines out. Ramone changed baits and colors.1045a2d3cc708bfe79316d0283008b0d.jpg

All of the sudden we had another hook up. Sara’s turn. She had barely started reeling and her husband Les was getting pictures of her when Ramone yelled for someone to grab one of the other poles that was bending and making that clacking noise. Two fish on at once! So Les was the nearest to the other pole and gives his camera to Connie. He sits down in the other chair and starts reeling too. A little over under tangle and switch seats and they both hook up to a Jack carvelle.

We were getting closer to the marina now.

My husband Mike is quite a big sea fisherman and has been going out on once a year long range fishing trips out of San Diego into Mexican waters since the 90s. 3day, 4 day,7day, 9 , 10 and eleven day fish trips. ( I don’t go on those trips, too many days on a fishing boat for me). He has caught Big eye, yellow fin, blue fin, yellow tail tuna, dorado (mahi mahi) many types of bass in ocean We also have fished for bass, salmon, Alaskan halibut, stripers, steelhead. And we go fishing in the Sierras every summer for trout.

SO, he has many many fish stories to tell and kept everyone entertained while waiting for fish to be hooked.

He was a gentleman and let everyone else have a turn first.

There was a sea cave in that rock mountain that had the lighthouse.

Total catch for 3 cabin cruisers that day:

One of the boats caught smallish dorado, somebody on one of the boats caught a sailfish and somebody caught a black marlin!

Time to head back to ship. Van to port area. It was hot and we were tired, but I wanted to get some trinkets for grandkids and my daughter asked for a Mexican blanket. I could have stayed longer but the line to the little tram was getting longer and longer.

Hi:

Thank you for the great review and for taking us along on your adventure! I apologize if you previously discussed this; however, I do not believe you did.

Have you heard from anyone about approximately how full or to capacity this sailing was?

Thank You,

Ryan

I saw a posting on another website that said there were 3848 passengers for this cruise.

Shower and nap time. Goodbye Mazatlan!

Dinner in Haven. We were famished we didn’t eat much of the large sack lunch.

I had the risotto again, one of my favorite dishes. It is listed as an appetizer. I only ate half because I knew what was coming. The butter lettuce salad is perfect too. Mike ordered the mushroom ravioli. I had the prime rib. Well you would think that one order could feed 3 people. It was obscene! I asked for horseradish too. Small Baked potato was good too.

Executive sous chef Nicholas came over for a chat. The most senior chefs wear a black scarf, mid level chefs wear a red scarf and newbies or entry level wear a blue scarf. What a nice fellow. He described how the kitchens onboard are cleaner than most if not all land based restaurants . They have nightly inspections and are held to a high standard of FDA and USDA. All bars have nightly inspections also. All the crew works so hard behind the scenes for our enjoyment and peace of mind.

I went down to ask Amir for my favorite drink that he makes, the one with Bullet bourbon and an egg white.

We went up to sundeck for a look at sunset. It was windy up there.

We played a new game at casino that I hadn’t seen yet. It had to do with the ocean, so I said we must try this one. Mike lost a ticket for about $60 right away. Put in another big ticket and we got the bonus!

Well that was fun!

Next we go to our room to find our towel animal and a notice that we will soon be leaving! Oh no! So sad.

I saw on the dailies activities list that siglo band will be up on pool deck for classic rock! I dragged Mike out of casino and we danced and danced! I love this band! Many people of our vintage were enjoying the music and these great musicians from Philippines.

I thought our towel animal was particularly cute tonight. He was my buddy tonight as my DH stayed out all night in casino. Heidi finally paid off huge for him! He was the one of a few people left in the casino and he danced in the corridor!

Now a note about gambling:

Remember the House always wins.

There are two types of gamblers: losers and liars.

It’s better not to gamble at all.

That said, gambling is our entertainment onboard. We spend many hours in the casino. Mike especially enjoys the slots, three card poker and video poker. I enjoy video poker, I’m a pretty low level player. We get offered “free” (we have to pay port charges and taxes, we are offered a type of category of cabin and then you can upgrade for a discounted fare, which we did) cruises through NCL. We cruise once a year, we get many offers through the year, but I’m limited in my vacation days.

Today was next to last full day. A day at Sea. Mike and I slept in. I worked out. 2 miles walking on jogging path. The climate has changed and it is fairly cold and windy. Seas are fairly smooth but full of white caps.

We spend the day relaxing in observation lounge, Haven courtyard, went to spa. Had lunch in Haven:

I had lobster bisque and chef special: sea bass filet. Mike had French dip sandwich. I had some of his sandwich. Wow it was delicious.

Then I had my first mudslide of the trip! Wow it was like a milkshake:

More jacuzzi and lounging around, then we got ready for Jersey Boys. We had our photos taken by photographer. How often do you get dressed up and have the opportunity to have your photo taken while being posed just so?

We forgot to take a selfie.

It was an excellent production of the play. Great singing and dancing. A great story too.

Then we had dinner in Haven. Everyone else had pre theater dinner. We were one of two parties of people in there. We wanted a light meal and had the grilled shrimp and mushroom ravioli.

We went to Caliente party at pool but it was very cold and windy up there to enjoy it. We had special hats and stuff for this party, but we did not stay.

And I’m finally caught up and actually LIVE today. Ask questions or ask for photos if you want!

We will be filling out cruise hero cards, tipping people, finalizing our bill etc. today. I’ll be going around taking pictures of our beautiful ship.

It’s our last day and a day at Sea. No parties or dinners planned today.

We have to pack and get our bags out tonight by midnight. So we have to do that chore at some point.

Have a great day!
