Oh how I miss the unlimited amount of alcohol I had on that ship. sigh.......
At the pool 1:30. Plenty of chairs and drink servers. I also won the black jack tournament today, then promptly gave all my winnings back!

Well, the Ring Saga continues... For those following, you read that my wife's wedding ring fell out of her purse and was thankfully turned into guest services. I left a note and offered to purchase the couple who found it dinner at a specialty restaurant. They politely declined, but said a bottle of wine would be nice. I went to guest services, told them the story, and Fabio, the guest services rep insisted that he purchase the bottle because MY gesture was so thoughtful! Brand loyalty is everything in the travel industry, and Royal essentially ensured that if we cruise again, it will be with them. (I also had the matre d send the couple a glass of champagne at dinner.) Casual dinner tonight. Cheers.

Hope you continue enjoying your cruise...happy your wife's ring was found and the entire story was great.

We got off of Freedom May 6th, 8 night cruise and we loved every minute of it.

Food was good, not fantastic but good. The service was outstanding, thanks to Meer and Mohamad.

Cruise Director, Drew was great....hope he is still on. Shows were all great!!

We had such a great time, we just booked the Mariner for October, taking our kids and grandkids.

The mushroom risotto was from the MDR was good last night. Seafood cake (like a crab cake) was fine. Here is the menu. Had some nice cucumber martinis from Christian at the R bar. The Quest game was hilarious. I fully endorse it, just don't bring kids and if you participate, be prepared to leave your dignity at home!IMAG0648.thumb.jpg.c4450d15eff442f525543b5fdc28ede9.jpg

Just got back from and amazing day in Curacao. If anyone is following and wondering about the ports, or is bored of the St. Martin, Bahamas, etc. you should seriously consider this itinerary. I will do a full post in the Curacao forum when I return. Caribbean theme in the MDR tonight, but we will be dinning at Giovanni's. Cheers.

Thanks for the updates. We are also leaving this Saturday. Glad things worked out with your wife’s ring. Great story and yes, there are some really good and honest people in the world (and that’s coming from someone who was a police officer in NYC for 22 years!)

What was the payout amount? I won a $30/seat Black Jack tourney on NCL and all I got was a cheap bottle of wine. My wife is allergic to alcohol so we gave it away to a couple that could make use of it.

We did the snorkel and swim with rays and sharks at the aquarium. Very interactive. Highly recommend it. Then we walked across the floating bridge into downtown, got away from the tourists and ate lunch with the locals. Good food, good beer, friendly people, amazing architecture. Good times.IMAG0674.thumb.jpg.f643e0ec00ced9473842cc5dc2237fa0.jpg

Thank you for all the info thetone. Have you heard of a drink punch card for cocktails? I know they have the coffee one but heard some cruises offering for cocktails.
I have only seen coffee cards, but we have the package, so I am not really paying attention.

OK, let's talk about Giovanni's last night. We paid $24 per person badsed on a pre-cruise sale I jumped on. The meal was perfectly suitable for what we were expecting. The mussel appetizer was fantastic. The mozerella tomato, just OK. The Oso Bucco was very good; my wife's eggplant parm, was fine. We were brought a nice cake and they sang happy anniversary, and we had a wonderful, intimate meal. The food is better than the MDR, and the intimacy was a nice change. Was it as good as one of the top Italian restaurants in San Diego, no. But we were more than pleased with the meal, especially for the price we paid.

Casino sunk us for a few bucks, and we headed to bed early after a few martinis and glasses of wine.

Just got back from Aruba. Will post in the Aruba forum. If you are the thinking snorkel trip, Use Jolly Pirates. Really fun crew and boat. $7 per person can to and from Moombah Beach.

Casual tonight for those of you keeping score.

Cheers.

Apparently there was a white party for the sail away from Aruba last night at 10:45 at the pool deck. Music was salsa, and most of the events have catered to the heavy Puerto Rican crowd on board.

MDR menu was dull last night. First bad meal of the week. I think the drink package, which I am 100% sure I have more than paid for already, is catching up with me! Taking it easy for our final sea day. Formal night tonight. Cheers.IMAG0732.thumb.jpg.3f80301114f66f1dcc03e6054c352caf.jpg
