Live from Oasis and Star Class

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I promised myself I would do this during the week albeit randomly, but since this is a special cruise and I am taking my elderly mother with me, who flew especially over from Uk, and poss for the last time, it means more...also wanted to add to the other star class reviews that Helped me get even more informed and excited as to what was to come......so others could benefit like I did.

Embarkation at Port Canavarel was a breeze..... checked in by a waiting Star class rep by the banner, and along with our luggage, order standing by, we were escorted through a separate line, no waiting into the lounge where our beautiful Hossain Genie met us with a smile so bright and happy!

Great start! We sat a few mins as he discussed the benefits etc and we learned more about each other, and then up to the front of the line to be immediately escorted onto the ship, and our beautiful amazing 2 Bedroom Aqua Theater Suite. Until now, my Mother has no idea at as to the suite class etc..... Hossain and I even had a little joke saying to my mother, that he wasn’t sure he could get an extra lounger for us since the balcony was rather small...

Imagine her surprise when we walked into that suite........

Will write more soon. As that balcony is calling us to go out and relax......

Enjoy your vacation and thank you for sharing. One day I will be able to afford a suite. lol

Many many long hours worked just to get a teeny bit close, but worth every cent (and card) lol, to be able to do this for my Mother..... and share her pleasure and enjoyment.

Thanks you for well wishes...

My Mother is in heaven, just loving it all tho doesn’t say much, I know.......it’s so great to see..

We ate at Chops last night.... what a huge disappointment... first one so far....so it can only get better... between us we ordered the lobster and rack of lamb. Both cold, chewy, tasteless...even the baked potato and side of mushrooms was bland and cold...... won’t be going back. Skipped dessert as they don’t have the mud pie or creme brûlée any more.....but dear genie left us some Macaroons in our suite, so a lovely surprise.

Beautiful morning out on balcony....huuuuge! Great to people watch and just relax on the lovely padded loungers after room service of Eggs Benedict. Yum.

BTW....Boleros does a great Coconut Mojito...ask for Jonathan!

Relaxed on balcony some more, Mum is loving it.

Had some sushi from Izumi delivered for lunch. Excellent!

Just watched a rehearsal for Aqua show as it started raining so no sun for a bit...rain now a white out....very heavy.....please send positive thoughts over here for it to be gone before Labadee tomorrow.......haha...

Am now inside waiting on the drinks cart to arrive so I can select one of their speciality beverages......yum.

Come on drink cart.....lol back later

Booked for 150 CP tonight, and heard that is excellent.... will let you know,

The drink cart arrived. A choice of 6 cocktails...I chose a raspberry one without the Hennessy. and a prosecco type drink that was too bitter....it was fun to try but still preferring. My coconut Mojito, with the Mango Mojito coming a close 2nd.....

Just getting to bed after a great night with a delicious dinner at 150CP. The filet melts in your mouth, excellent. Could have been warmer, same for Bernaise sauce but otherwise very good. Had scallops as an appetizer, you get 3..... deffo room for more. Lol

Didn’t have a dessert again, they changed the menu so nothing really grabbed us..... my Mother had the Butternut squash soup and said it was very good and we both enjoyed the fillet carved tableside.

Met up with our handsome genie, Hossain. Such a darling. Front row seats reserved for “Cats”.

The character “Rumtum Tugger” pulled me up to dance!! What a hoot. Evening gown and high heels too! Eeeek but luckily I didn’t trip.....lol

I have seen many broadway shows and I have to say this was excellent! Well worth the 2.5 hrs, regardless of reviews I read, I thought the cast did a great job. Some superb singing voices amongst them too.

After the show, a visit up to the CK lounge on deck 17 to make cappuccinos from the machine, and back to our suite to enjoy the lovely warm breeze on our fabbo balcony. You can’t beat lying on a lounger in the dark, looking up at the stars and hearing the ship as she sails through the Caribbean waters.... just the best ever.....

Can’t wait for Labadee..... splurged for a OTW Cabana.... must whine a little as the price for them is just ridiculous now, $300 more than they were 2 yrs ago... I know my Mother will really enjoy it, knowing how hot the sun can get there, so won’t say anything else about it.....lol

Just want that lovely sunshine all day.... dont forget to send me those positive vibes.....haha

We had a surprise creme brûlée waiting for us tonight...thank you Hossain.

K....sleepy time...Labadee and Labadoozis coming up in the am.......

Re: not seeing a dessert (or any other menu item for that matter) to your liking...you can ask for dishes from other specialty restaurants if you want. We had exactly the same experience at 150 last month on Allure. The dessert menu didn’t appeal to us so we asked for red velvet cake from Chops. During that same meal we also asked for cream of mushroom soup, which they kindly brought.

Hi Gary,

We were on last week and if I recall correctly it was right at 4:00. But we had a delayed boarding due to the Coast Guard inspection so on normal weeks it may be a bit earlier.

After our wonderful relaxin day in Labadee in our cabana, so fabulous, we headed back “slowly” on board.

1 issue that needscommenting on - our cabana attendant was not of the personal service” variety. I was constantly looking for her and ended up going to the bar 2-3times for drinks as she just disappeared.!

She would show up as I returned to the cabana with my drinks in hand, saying”oh I didn’t see you”. That got old quickly... a very expensive cabana without the personal service was most disappointing, but maybe I just had the lazy one.....been in them before and usually have an energetic helpful person....

Amazing how she appeared and was almost standing on top of us as we prepared to leave.......she stood there a good 10mins....I did not tip her as well as I had intended. Sorry.....

Back on board and some lovely fresh water melon and Mango awaited us- perfect!! Thank you dear genie...oh, and then a coconut Mojito arrived too! He is the best!

Ate at Izumi tonight... fabulous! Excellent dinner. Then on to see the Headliner act, Abbacadabra - a take off act of ABBA. They were ok. Not a repeat show for me, tho I love the ABBA songs... but better than a juggler or magician....haha.

More to talk about but will have to finish later as off our to Falmouth...mummys’ toes are tapping and she is almost by the cabin door ready to go....lol

Please note that on your survey about Labadee. We just came back as well and had the same experience, which is so different from before. The only problem when going to the bar was there was one bartender and the cabana attendents kept cutting everyone. It took 25 minutes to get one drink. I noted it on the survey and received a call back regarding the service and told the attendent would be retrained.
