On board credit

Is it possible to get an on board credit that is offered after a booking has been paid off?

If you are within the final payment date you can rebook and get the credit but sometimes the trip cost more so you have to figure out if you have a net GAIN by getting the OBC. I recently rebooked and it cost me $97 more but we got $150 of OBC so it was worth it
