Manhattan Cruise Terminal & Luggage Drop-off

Recommended Posts

We travel with mom who uses a wheelchair full-time. In the past we have been dropped off at the terminal but for our next NCL cruise we will be driving ourselves. I searched on the East Coast Departures board and could not find the answer to my question. Are there luggage porters in the garage who will take bags once we park? Do I have to drop off the bags, mom, and the rest of the party on the second floor and then exit the terminal and return to park?

No. You have to drop off the luggage at the terminal and than park the car.

The parking garage is right next to the terminal. I've done it several times (dropped sister, scooter and luggage at the terminal and then driven to the garage). It's really easy.

When you return, definitely get a luggage porter. When we came back from our NCL cruise, I gave the porter $20 and he took us all the way to the car :) He told me it was hit or miss - just depended how busy they were. We were off the ship early so I took advantage.

There is no garage in Manhattan, the parking is on top of the terminal. While it would be easier to park and haul luggage, you will probably want to drop off first. Just know that you are going to have to exit the terminal and turn back in to get back to the parking.
