New name for Golden Princess

I was wondering, how does P&O choose the names for its new(ish) ships like the, soon to be not, Golden Princess?

Do they ask a marketing firm for ideas?

How about we save them some money and provide some suggestions here?:D

If P&O wanted to try for something historically appropriate, the ships that Captain Cook commanded when exploring the Pacific were:

Endeavour, Discovery, Resolution and Adventure.

I like Pacific Adventure and Pacific Discovery.:)

Good idea. Most cruise ships have really naff names. It would be good to see one line actually use a name that had some historic resonance, by reference to a person, place or a famous vessel of the past.

That’s why the Cunard ships and the HAL ships have names that are more convincing than the likes of Princess, NCL and Carnival.
