Celebrity Infinity - Panama Canal May 2-17 2018

Anybody on here taking this cruise? Or has taken? Would be interested in any suggestions/comments.

Welcome to Cruise Critic!

May I suggest that for specific info about this cruise on the Infinity, you would probably do better asking (and searching) over on the Celebrity board. There's also a Ports of Call/Panama Canal board, where you can find terrific information on the Canal transit as well as on some of the ports normally visited on a Canal cruise. (Many of your ports will be covered in other Ports of Call boards.) I would also suggest joining the Roll Call for your cruise.

My wife and I did our first transit of the Canal last year (on the NCL Jewel), and it was a wonderful cruise. My biggest piece of advice is to read David McCullough's "The Path Between the Seas," which will really help you appreciate just what an incredible human endeavor it was for the Canal to be built. (It's a long book, if you haven't already read it, you don't have much time left. :D)

Also, during the transit, be sure not to stay in one place all day. Walk all over the ship, see the locks from high, low, forward, stern, midships... And remember, it will be very hot and humid.
